This seems really good!  I've been using 30boxes for awhile, and that's been great - but I think Googlecal might be even better.  Actually, the one thing that definitely makes it best for me is that it allows date entry in European style - i.e. 31/12 instead of 12/31 - a very simple tweak, but it makes all the difference to usability for me.  Backpack is going to have a calendar soon, which will probably also be worth a look.

Hit escape at that dialog, it seems to be working just fine with Opera 9

Holy fuck it really ROCKS. I found about it just an hour ago or so and holy crap.. I'm impressed. The timing of this was amazing as I just spent the last week looking for the perfect PIM--unsuccessfully. This is SO COOL! I too noticed that Opera is not fully supported :(.. but in Firefox it works BEAUTIFULLY. I have to see if it will work in Opera if I ignore the compatibility warning... somehow I don't want to push my luck though. It's good to know the application is fully and officially compatible with Firefox and IE. Guess I'll be using Firefox more often now.. at least until there is official Opera support :P

I just wonder why the Calender displays a link to Gmail but not vice versa... maybe they don't want to attract each and everyone yet?

I just spent some time playing with the google calendar.  I have to say they have a nice interface, (ajax rocks ) but thus far there is no way to sync with my Treo, so the interface is just not useful to me.  I will stick with http://www.airset.com until google develops enough functionality to replace it.  What I really wish is that airset would adopt the ajax interface style of the google calendar or of http://kiko.com
I guess I will just watch and wait

AirSet's feature "Sync with Outlook and Palm desktop" sounds good, lets see what Google will add :)

I use Airset as well for the same reasons mentioned above as well as having group calendars and contacts and lists etc.
I use it for work as well as family use and have my wife and all my co workers with accounts and access to their appropriate shared calendars, contact lists, and task lists.

I use Thunderbird + the new calendar extension Lightning 0.1 with it. It was super easy to import my Google Calendar but when I add a new event in Thunderbird, it is not reflected in GCal. Now THAT would rock. To have the two of them be completely synced up!
