I've been looking for a work break timer with a particular interface or one that could be customized to get the desired result, but I haven't found one.
The basic functionality and customization of intervals common to break reminder programs is fine, but I would like to see the following:
In a chosen portion of the screen, at set intervals, the countdown clock would appear briefly with a simple opaque rectangle with the clock numbers counting down. It would appear for about 5 seconds, fading in and fading out. Fade-In-5:03...5:02...5:01...5:00...4:59...4:58-Fade-Out
It would fade in near the desired times; perhaps, if counting down from 45:00, at 10:00, 5:00, 1:00, and down from :15 to 0.
When the timer hit 0, the screen would go shaded black; in the center of the screen would be a timer counting down the duration of the break. There would be a button to postpone the break by 1 or 2 minutes only, and one to resume work.
Additionally, but less important: mousing over the countdown timer would reveal a button to "Break Now."
Most everything I'm addressing is obviously aesthetic, I know, but I think breaks from sitting are extremely important and people are more likely to embrace the shiny and new.
And if I'm ignorant and there is a program that can accomplish this appearance, please let me know. Thanks.
