Eventually I upgraded to SiteSpinner Pro for simple sites for friends; more complicated work requires DW 8, which I like in spite of occasionally having to tweak the generated code for W3C compliance.-OldElmerFudd (September 27, 2009, 07:31 PM)
O_O! I am absolutely shocked that no one has suggested Nvu.http://www.net2.com/nvu/it started out as a small open source software, but seems has grown a bit beyond that. It's still free though, and an excellent way to begin building websites for free.-Kamel (September 27, 2009, 09:10 PM)
NVU is dead (under this name it is no longer developed). The previously mentioned Kompozer is the updated version of it.
