Okay, given the name, and the breed, I have to ask ... Does this have anything to do with (Jerry Reed) Snowman's dog in Smokey and the Bandit? To this day - Hang on to your ass Fred... - is one of my all-time favorite movie lines.

Believe it or not, it was not brought about by Smokey and the bandit. Great movie, by the way.

I'm a ham radio operator and a day before arranging to pick up Fred I in July of1997, I went on the air with my gang and asked for suggestions for a name for my soon to be Basset Hound. Someone suggested I name it after one of the senior members of the group who just happened to be named Fred.

The rest is history.

By the way, that picture of Fred I was taken in a 1997 Toyota RAV4 which I bought especially for him because of the room behind the back seats. I still drive that 18 year old car and all the Freds have ridden back there.

I thought my two cats were unique in laying on the top of our reclining chairs. We have have a male Spiderman and female Littlebit. They bring so much joy to my life.

My beautiful Tigger is gone! Her 19 1/2 years were wonderful and we are heartsore! At least we could let her go peacefully as she went downhill very fast and did not suffer...

We are very sad but happy she was okay right to the end

Vet said she was just old and stopped eating and I wouldn't hospitalize her at that age.. So we decided to send her off peacefully!

Tigger is soooooo beautiful. You did the right thing and she was a lucky cat to be so loved. My cat (of 18yrs) saffron died a little more than a year ago and i still miss her terribly much.

A new kitty found me! Long story will tell later. She is coming today!

I've named her Tinkerbell - rescue kitty... At 5 weeks my friend says she is strong, weaned and was first to open eyes, climb out of box etc
