DONE: Titlebar Clock
« on: April 30, 2005, 01:40 AM »
Laziness on my part I know :-[ but a Titlebar Clock/Calendar would be very useful to me.

TClock is the right app if I were loking for something for the "Taskbar".
You'll find the Titlebar at the top where minimize, maximize and closed buttons are located.

ah, yes i see, titlebar not taskbar - sorry.

that does ring a bell though - i think there might have been something that did that as far back as windows 3.1 or at least win95.

i certainly remember being able to configure what was displayed in the titlebar - it must have been time and date as i can't really see what would be more obvious to display.

if i can find what it was i'll post back - it means searching through some very old cd lists though.

agree, this rings a bell - this has been implemented before, just a matter of finding it.

im changing this to thumbs down just because it already exists somewhere - but please post if you know more apps that do this - the thread isnt closed.

I think I've seen title bar clocks, but I can't remember where.

There is the ultimate lazy man's solution: Cursor Clock.  And it's free.

it works!!
damn that is too cool!

looks like a really need to update skrommels script pack on the coding snacks page.

what i want to know is, how come everytime i try a skrommel script and start to write a reply to request a feature i find skrommel has already implemented it! (i was going to request a modifyable x offset for those of us with extra caption buttons in some of our windows, but its already there - nice).

I found one title bar click utility (quite vicariously):

TitleTime
http://www.jumaros.de/rsoft/index.html

Edit:  I don't like TitleTime much at all--the date string isn't very configurable at all, but rather relies on you altering your Windows regional settings.  Blech, no thanks.

This scripts convinced me to sit down and learn AutoHotkey. I'm a heavy user of Quickeys but something like this if possible in QuickKeys (doubt it) would take over the cpu.

Hah, that's neat.  But what's the difference between having the clock on the left or the right?  :)

It saves space.

The Start button is the most useless name that could have been given 2 the "Start" button so U can replace it with something useful.

I have enough items in my system tray & the more there R the smaller the taskbar buttons get.

StartClock displays the current time in the Start button, and the date and more in the tray.

You'll find the downloads and more info at Skrommel Software.

Hi Skrommel,

BTW the StartClock link of your side
points to the MouseClock.exe

StartClock.ahk didn't work for me, W2kSP4
The StartButton increase only every 1sec  for ca. 100ms for 1 millimeter to the right, that's all.

I took an IQ test and they said my results were negative.

Thank's Stefan!

I've just changed the detection of the start button, but I still don't know if it'll work with W2K.

If so, can I ask you to download and run AutoIt3 Windows Spy and report back the class and name of the start button? Just download and install AutoHotkey form www.autohotkey.com and run AutoIt3 Windows Spy from the AutoHotkey forlder on the start menu, then just click twise on the start button.
