Idea: Untouch
« on: October 27, 2008, 09:09 AM »
Untouch - A simple program which records a button of another program (eg: the Stop Button of Windows Media Player) and activates it when run. Preferabily the program must have command line execution over lan.

Check out this thread: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=15292.0 on how to give Windows Media Player the next button command by AHK code. It may do what you want if you want if it is something similar and simple and it is one of the multimedia functions defined in AHK. Doing it over a LAN is not something I have tried. Does anyone have AHK code on how to control a remote computer?

For clicking on arbitrary buttons in any program, that would probably best be left to using macro recorders that record your mouse movements and key strokes because I don't think there is a universal way to record the identity of a button you want to press.

No! This is not I am looking for. It will be similar to Skrommel's 'Captain'. The program dosen,t records mouse movement, Instead it should record the identity of a button under a window caption. In other words it should record the identity of a caption as Skrommel's 'Captain' do and secondly the button identity or the position identity in that specific window. The media player is just an example, it could be the 'calculator', the close button of a specific 'game' etc. The program will be running in the background, and we just click the icon(notification area) and select 'run Untouch' to activate the button of recorded program (If the program is running in the foreground, background or minimised).

If it has an execution over lan we could stop a running game or anything from another pc. Unlike remote pc we don't have to waste time connecting and controling for a simple need.Thankyou for the comments.

A simple question here: why the title? Do you mean touch as in toggle -untoggle?

Would using "Window Spy" or "Active Window Info" give you info on controls that you can use to script AutoHotkey to do what you want?

Sorry to know that the title confuses you. It only means that we are not directly touching the control button of a program.

The Idea is simple, I just want to click the (recorded) button of a program of my 2nd PC from my 1st PC without physically touching the control. I think Ps execute from 'PS Tools' have to be linked to the program. I am not so familiar with AutoHot Key. Could you give this a try.
