Shadow mountains 10-21-16.jpgShow us the View Outside Your Window

I call this Shadow Mountains. My regular camera wouldn't focus on these mountains(too much sun glare probably), so I used my phone camera. It doesn't have zoom so even though it takes reasonably high-resolution pictures, the resolution of the cropped part is much less. Still a decent picture though, and I didn't have to use a panorama program to get it. The original picture is below.

Last Super Moon of 2016 taken with my Olympus SH-60, hand held, through the window at max. optical and digital zoom (48x):

20161215-041747.jpgShow us the View Outside Your Window

I used Program mode with ISO 125, Exposure Comp. -2, and WB set to cloudy.
Crop, Scale 50%, and Auto-levels in XnView.

Nowhere near as good as with a DSLR but considering what the camera is, not too bad.

^ that's a really good quality image

I'm trying to sort out photos at the moment and came across this one from the same night (screenshot @100%) quality much poorer:

moon itself not that different even though the other side of the world -- it has rotated a bit.
time below is CET:

Thanks  :)  Bit more pixelated than I'd like but for what the camera is (and more importantly what it cost ;D ) not too bad.

This is scaled full image to show the size of the moon in relation to it, with just optical zoom it would have been about half the size (only 2x digital zoom):

I think it's a great result -- you might get better image quality if you didnt use digital zoom, but enlarged with a good image editor afterwards. I guess will depend on the model, but digital zoom, in my experience, isn't great.

Pictures of a band of clouds on Mt. Graham here. The top picture was taken with my phone camera and cropped with Irfanview. The original picture is below. Which picture do you prefer?

Interesting-looking to me mountain panorama. Let me know if you want the 17 MB version.

@Arizona Hot: Nice pics! The sight of all those mountains gives me itchy feet. Need to go walk over them. (Not into rock-climbing though.)

Some unusual clouds I saw today. Let me know if you want the original pictures, I have no way of knowing exactly how interested in those pictures people here are.

I have a "like new" new camera now. Some test shots are below.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX20V 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS Digital Camera with 20x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Black) (2012 Model).jpgShow us the View Outside Your Window  Mystery picture.jpgShow us the View Outside Your Window

I found picture #2 above also in the camera when I went to transfer my first picture to the computer. I don't know when or where it was taken, it has the default date and time.

Some of the reasons I got the new camera:
Post reference.jpgShow us the View Outside Your Window    DSC00012.JPGShow us the View Outside Your Window

The button on that camera that doesn't work and allows you to change the clock also allows you to see the pictures you have taken. I wanted a camera with which it was easier to take in-camera panoramas(above full-res) and which was less sensitive to high-contrast situations. This camera produces in-camera panoramas easily and you can also produce excellent multi-picture panoramas(below) using Microsoft ICE with it. If you want more than this, you will have to ask, it is 96 MB in size.

Actually, this is a night indoor shot without flash using only monitor light.

This is the picture of the eastern hills I posted a year ago using my previous camera.

This is the same hills taken with my new camera. They look very different, don't they?
