Overview: Janino is not intended to be a development tool, but an embedded compiler for run-time compilation purposes, such as expression evaluators or "server pages" engines like JSP. The major design goal was to keep the compiler small and simple, while partially sacrificing completeness. Nobody likes the idea of carrying around huge libraries for simple applications. I have no idea! It was listed on the page above which came from a list of recent blogs on ZDNet on an RSS feed from ZDNet.
The title of the page...

There are five downloads listed on the bottom of that page and all show "promo" in the link.
I'm clueless!
