I have Main Type as well
but -
1) I dont need to use it much
2) I've never used anything else so I cant really compare it to others ...

It certainly is very easy to use and I like it

Er...I started this thread. I was speaking in regards to the CC companies embedding rfid tags into their cards, and questioning the reasoning for it

Apologies - the "RSI" reference above confused me - I obviously havent read everything again ..

I think I'm still missing the point entirely...were people getting RSI from having to actually make physical contact between their cards and the terminal? Is this too much for people in the 21st century?
:tellme: are you posting to the wrong thread Ethyar - or misreading something ? (or am I ...)

hi Kevin
I'm presuming Esther Gokhale and Mary Bond dont differ too much in their ideas ?

For the record, in the YouTube film,
Esther Gokhale says her ideas dont differ too much from Alexander technique (see Sri's link above), but that they concentrate on the neck/shoulder area and dont comment too much on the hip area. But that is where she reckons is of most importance in psoture

... I am reminded to make an effort.
... what I'm trying to figure out is how to make the effort :)

I thought I'd start a thread related to ideas about how we should sit, stand, lift stuff even,
especially in relation to how we work and any problems we might have due possibly to poor posture.

quoted your book/video recommendations kfitting (great video btw )

How you hold your shoulders directly affects your wrists.  The book that's helped me the most in this area is "8 Steps to a Pain Free Back," which is $16 on Amazon.  (http://www.amazon.co...219617750&sr=1-1)  My back, shoulder, and wrist pain has been reduced drastically using the methods in this book... $16 very well spent.  For those of you who like getting something for nothing, here is a youtube video of a seminar Esther (the author) gave at Google (http://www.youtube.c.../watch?v=-yYJ4hEYudE).

that video is very interesting and impressive - I would recommend it to everybody

it is very long - worthwhile seeing it all, but,
if you just want to see how to sit look at the 7th to 14th minute
standing technique is roughly from the 20th to the 26th minute
She also talks about lifting around mins 27 to 30

Apparently, according to her website, the fashion world during the 1920's started the trend of "tucking the pelvis" which she says is where we started going wrong ...

Her blog looks good as well
http://www.8stepstoapainfreeback.com/
she talks about how to sit here
# Use a chair with a low, straight backrest that doesn’t lean back.
Sit down with your butt well back in the chair. Place your feet about hip-width apart and relax your legs.
# Bend at the waist and curve your ribcage forward slightly to lengthen your back. Leave your butt in your chair.
... etc ...

btw, images here and in first post are from her blog

thanks Brett  must try out the free version

notice it corrects:
... chromatic aberration
....
Distortions:

    * Vignetting correction
    * Barrel/pincushion correction
    * Perspective correction
    * Rotation, squeezing, stretching
    * Skewing, bending
they dont seem to have any good comparision page to see differences of different versions
do you know offhand Brett what limitations the free version has (after the 30 day trial is over) ? (esp. if it can correct all those distortions ? that would be nice :-*)

even if you have automatic upate set on 'fry my system at your leisure' setting.
;D ;D ;D
not my system though :P - the in-laws, & they havent gotten their heads around "semi" auto-updates so "better a chance to fry" than no updates at all ..

:-\ oh, I guess I'd better just go up there and install the damn thing

I would like to request, if possible, the use of the ~ key

on my keyboard I must press RightAlt and +
I know on english keyboards it's shift and [something I cant remember]

I don't think so, but you can always try. Remember that you can also install SP3 via Windows Update, it's the first thing it will offer to you

I think(?) you misunderstood ? -  [edit] or maybe I misunderstood you ;D [/edit]
I don't want it to install it cause I reckon it will hog the bandwidth on this persons computer but if it's going to do it anyway (I mean if autoupdates is going to install it anyways) I may as well download it myself here and install it there, if you follow me ...

[edit]Their XP install is otherwise uptodate

Living Room / Win XP auto-update query
« Last post by tomos on September 06, 2008, 02:21 PM »
Say you're using XP updates where it notifies you of updates but doesnt do anything until you approve.
You can then refuse an update - in this case SP3, and ask not to be notified of it again.

If you then turn on automatic updates in xp - i.e. fully auto = including downloading/installing,
dou you think will it try & install SP3 ?
(you could imagine that could be difficult for someone with slow internet connection)

HWiNFO32[/url] - freeware system information tool for Windows. Lets you create hardware reports in various formats and select the components you want in the report.
looks good but like most of those progs exports something about 30 pages long ...

here's mine edited from another thread:
CPU:   Intel core 2 duo e4400 tray 2048kb, lga775, 64bit
Mobo:   Msi p35 neo-f, intel p35, atx
CPU fan:   Arctic freezer 7 pro sockel 775
Memory:   2048Mb-kit ddr2 mdt , pc6400/800, cl5
Box:   Coolermaster centurion5  Cac-t05-uw no PSU
PSU:   Corsair vx450w
Graphic card:   ASUS GF-7100GS Silent, 128MB, Nvidia 7100GS, PCIe
Harddrives:   Two x Samsung hd321kj 320gb serial ata-ii, 7200 upm, 16mb
DVD burner:   Samsung sh-s183l
+ Windows XP Home SP2

I'm very happy with it
was custom built by an online shop here.
cant recommend the box from a noise point of view - one fan cant be replaced by a larger one so it cant be made a whole lot quieter
The cd drive is fine, but very slow to read discs initially - I still have a Plextor 716a burner in an older machine that I meant to add to this one but I'm just not that kind of guy really - I'll take it apart only when I really have to ...

Just put together a sketch for the SnapSuite 2009 splash screen (took me about 30 seconds). I found it rather amusing (was listening to “Having Trouble Sneezing” by Mark Mothersbaugh while I made it).

Couldn't resist when i saw this on the blog (in reply to the osnews article):
"Considered Harmful" Essays Considered Harmful

There are those cases where such essays are written because the author enjoys grandstanding, and knows that use of the "considered harmful" format will get them noticed. A piece of this type is usually so over the top that it is easy to spot. For example, a piece titled "'Considered Harmful' Essays Considered Harmful" would very likely be a case of using the "considered harmful" format to draw attention for its own sake. We will ignore such essays in this commentary.

XYplorer[/url] does this
hmm, I dont see that as a column option in xyplorer ? - I'm not that familiar with it but

it's called the "Len" column, I think, (strange name) but it doesnt show anything here -
help says:
Len: Length of the file name, including the full path) in characters. Note that for performance reasons the "Len" column will only be filled with data when visible.
Len (Full Path): Shows the hovered filename's length (including the full path).
any tips there ? :)

[edit] "Len" just shows length of filepath in number of characters [/edit]

http://arstechnica.c...-well-change-it.html

...
It's worth noting that the EULA is largely unenforceable because the source code of Chrome is distributed under an open license. Users could simply download the source code, compile it themselves, and use it without having to agree to Google's EULA. The terms of the BSD license under which the source code is distributed are highly permissive and impose virtually no conditions or requirements on end users.
....

I find that a little ironic - they're saying they cant enforce how we use the browser
The problem here is that we dont know how they are going to use this browser -
from that point of view (i.e. how the EULA limits/effects their actions) it's important

[apologies I havent read the article but had to respond to that quote]

edit/ okay not so bad as it seemed, the excerpt I kept is from the ArsTechnica writer (initially I thought it from google spokesperson), but it is important to look at it from that point of view - we want the eula to limit what google can do ...

That sounds like Skrommel's ClipStep. Or try ClipX if you want some basic interface to manipulate clipboard contents, apart from extending it.

that's been worked on a good bit since by TWmailrec -

check out that webpage - he has a thread here too (it's probably linked too or do a search) - if you cant figure it out I'm sure he'll help
