well, I got the email

it's a very simple idea but very interesting and I'm working well with it so far -
I have had to modify it a bit to my needs

He has asked that people dont pass on instructions till it's out of beta phase
so
guess that means it cant be really discussed here
he has a basic forum (spoiled here, arent we) http://www.markforster.net/forum/

Autofocus Time Management System
January 5th, 2009

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you very much for joining the trial of my new Autofocus system. It has been built
on years of experience in the time management field, and has worked better for me than
any other time management system I have ever tried, including previous ones I have
developed myself. Now is the time to find out if it works for other people as well, and
this is where your contribution will be invaluable.
I intend to make the final version of the system free of charge and available to
everyone without registration. However until the final version is produced I would be
grateful if you would not directly pass on the instructions to anyone. If you wish
to recommend the system to other people then please encourage them to register on
my website, using the Newsletter Sign-Up Box for Beta Testing as before.
-
to joinup just signup for his newsletter - even if you're signed up already - IIRC you get an option to change your profile, select that & you get an email with option to join
semacode looks more like the one used by Deutsche Bahn for train tickets bought online - the conducter reads the code then
breaking it up seems good enough to me - part per phone, part per text, part per email
who's going to get all that except the - whatstheword - the person you're sending it to?
And do I get the impression that you need to have your entire collection on your computer to sync it to the ipod?
So, since I only only have a few GB free, I can't use most of the ipod, (except by using third party software)....
I've heard that but from a friend of mine who isnt that familiar with the software (iTunes) and isnt really a check-out-all-the-options-type
-
is it true that you have to synch your full iTunes collection with the iPod - i.e. you cant have more in iTunes than you have in yer iPod (or the other way round) - or worse still you cant selectively select what goes on the iPod ??
if that's true Apple truly are mad as you say Fred lol
The RAM I'm getting:
Corsair, Dominator 4GB (2 x 2GB) (PC2 8500)
Is this the right RAM for me?  I don't know.  If not, please let me know thanks.  (Check first post for list of purchases)
I see other similar options:
Corsair 4gb #1
Corsair 4gb #2
Corsair 4gb #3
Corsair 4gb #4
Corsair 4gb #5
...and so forth.  How do I choose?
have you checked the motherboard site/page - they usually recommend compatible ram
are you wondering if it's better than IE7 or than FF3 ?
f0dder is definitely saying he thinks FF3 better, but also sounds like he's saying IE8 better than IE7
Also, J River Media Center (god I hate that name) and it's free counterpart, Media Jukebox, (much better name) has really grown on me lately, and since it burns CDs I have a feeling that if I were to ever burn a music CD (as audio or as files) I'd probably just use Media Center. Media Center (not Jukebox) has a "portable install" option, but it hasn't worked for me after multiple tries  :down:.
I think Media Jukebox is the perfect "give to mom" program for audio, in fact I just gave it to my mom over thanksgiving weekend...
I used Media Jukebox to make a audio CD compilation lately (dying art that !)
That it was the first time I ever used/worked with mp3's (I mean I've done absolutely nothing to do with music on pc) , I can say it was *easy* to use
re portability see quote
Post New Requests Here / Re: Simple single exe to show/hide to taskbar
« Last post by tomos on January 06, 2009, 05:01 AM »
:) How about this?
Skrommel
;RunAndHide.ahk
; Run to hide or show the taskbar
;Skrommel @ 2008
IfWinExist,ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
{
  WinHide,ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
  WinHide,Start ahk_class Button
}
Else
{
  WinShow,ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
  WinShow,Start ahk_class Button
}
what to do with it?
if you dont have AutoHotKey, get that and "install" (portable)
save Skrommels code - save as "RunAndHide.ahk" preferably in your AutoHotKey (scripts) folder
~\AutoHotkey\Extras\Scripts
open saved AHK file
staying slightly on-topic:-
I've sometimes seen this on webpages -
they cant display an apostrophe as in ' (I don't mean the accent`)
or they can have problems with umlauts - instead they show stuff like the †-
I'm wondering is that to do with the site in question or my browser?
(just idly wondering to be honest - and what did they use before the euro symbol came along :tellme: :P)
#7 British politicians going mad now - I thought there was a recession - of course this would create a few nice jobs, for some people .... but I'm surprised they think it's even worth while
- idly wondering how much corruption there might be involved in such a big project
N.A.N.Y. 2009 / Re: NANY 2009 Final Release: cpfindex
« Last post by tomos on January 01, 2009, 11:55 AM »
when you say indexer - is it a search programme - okay, it says search. it's a search programme
I would have to second mousers request for a screenshot as I have no idea what interface is like - is there an interface? etc
I also have no idea what a console window is, so, I dont know - maybe it's not aimed at someone like me?
wikipedia:
Command line interface, the typical use of the computer console
(I presume) which probably rules me out ...
I am still in search of finding the right career for me, that will allow me to express my creativity, express my ability to teach others, and allow me to continue to grow in knowledge about computer related things or all things in general. These are really the things that matter most to me
good luck with that Chad, still looking around myself too ...
I'm missing all the action here - *congrats to us* sounds funny all right but, i have to agree -
i.e. it is the "most useful forum" (most helpful, most friendly, etc)
I'm sure there's an ancient chinese quote about leading by example or something like that - if not we'll have to make one up for mouser
Lau Tzu say - good mouser lead by following the great Tao - or, make up yer own!
Maybe I'll add that to my New Year's Resolution list: Take some classes so Ich kann mit Deutsch vertraut noch einmal erhalten.
(I hope that wasn't too incorrect! ;D)
I've been living here six years and still couldnt tell you should it be
Ich kann mit Deutsch vertraut noch einmal erhalten
Ich kann noch einmal mit Deutsch vertraut erhalten
Ich kann vertraut mit Deutsch noch einmal erhalten
or
or
or something different again :p (in other words I'm impressed)
