From ghacks today:

Clipboard Help+Spell’s new Quick Action feature processes Clipboard text automatically for you:
http://www.ghacks.ne...-text-automatically/

Ok it's official:
v2.23.01 - Nov 22, 2013
  • [MajorFeature] You can now define quick actions that can be performed on clips.  These can be web url searches or local program executions.  They are shown in the quick-paste popup menu and on the main window text memo toolbar.
  • [MajorFeature] You can now highlight terms in the clip text memo.  By default it will match any filter you are using to limit clips shown but you can override it.  You can also hit F3 to jump to next occurrence of the term when in the text memo window.
  • [MinorFeature] Added icons to clip grid right-click context menu.
  • [MajorFeature] Rewrote clip export procedure.  There are also now some options in Backup tab so you can specify which fields get exported and how to handle newlines.  You can also now export only the currently selected clips from the grid right-click menu.

DCIRLDD = DonationCoder In Real Life Dinner and Drinks

codycolorcakephoto.jpg

You are cordially invited to a DonationCoder.com vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner and evening of board games at my house in Champaign, Illinois, on Saturday November 30th, 2013.

Note that no one ever attends these things so be warned that this will just be a couple of socially awkward people playing board games.  I recommend attending only if you live nearby (though amtrak is within walking distance) and need an excuse to get out of the house.

Let me know by November 28 if you would like to attend.

I just noticed you are using Windows 8, migawka, and i see that winpcap has a new release with fixes for win8.

Have you tried installing the latest WinPCap, v4.1.3 (http://www.winpcap.o.../install/default.htm) ?

I'm not sure if I need to build a new version in order to fix whatever problem you are having, but I will try to release a new version of UrlSnooper with the new winpcap release.

Can anyone think of any other music video of any kind, where people were lip syncing the song but in a context where the words had no relation to the activity they were engaged in, like this video does?

It's quite an interesting mental experience.  The people are basically doing what they normally do, with their normal facial expressions, body language, and affect, but are mouthing words that have nothing to do with that.

Living Room / The Amazing Video for Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone"

A very cool video to Bob Dylan's famous song "Like a Rolling Stone":

One of the best music videos of 2013 belongs to a 48-year-old song. The interactive video for Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone," released yesterday, is a tour de force: as the music plays, you can flip between sixteen channels of simulated TV programming. But whether you're watching a financial news update, a romantic comedy, or a tennis tournament, it looks authentic except that everyone seems to be lip-synching the lyrics of the song.

Anyone else care to report on the new export function?
If your csv is importing with some clips not being parsed, can you see if you can identify why?

First let me say I think this is great that you are doing this.
Please take my comments as constructive criticism -- these are just my 2 cents:

The idea of making an always-running background service would turn me off from ever using this kind of thing.  Perhaps if it was something I used constantly I might go to the trouble of installing it, etc.  But I am stingy with things i leave running in the background.  And the added complexity, while impressive from a programming standpoint, seems troublesome to me..

I still think the best way to do this is a standalone exe that can just be called with the image file from any tool, to do its thing, without any need for a background resident process and inter-process communication.

If the desire is to not have to restart the program on each call, that would seem to me to be best handled as I said, with a 2nd instance simply passing off control to the first instance (and then exiting) if the first instance is already running, and let the program have an option of whether to stay minimized in tray or exit..

Just my 2 cents! I think it's great either way.

I will add a feature to export only selected clips.  But let's focus on the basic export functionality first.

It always exports the clips in the current view (selected group/filter), not just selected clips.  We can talk about that later.

You're loading this csv into excel without changing the file extension, right?  And you're only showing one clip -- can you tell me if your saying that ALL exported clips are coming in wrong, or is it just one or two?

If you look at the csv file in a text editor, can you see what's wrong?

Ok i can see that both of the config files are saying to load the .mcp from the program files directory.

If you exit LBC, and delete the "LaunchBarCommander.ini" file from each users directory, and then restart LBC, can you see if it works then?

Note also, you can now select any text in any program, and bring up the CHS quick paste menu (Ctrl+Alt+Q by default) and choose to perform a quick action (web search) on it.  No need to copy the text and then open the main CHS window and hit that button.

You don't have the latest version.  This sometimes happens when I upload a new version too soon -- the downloads are still serving the previous version.

The installer should say 2.22.02.  If it still says 2.22.01 then its not the new version.

Each user has an LBC folder in their document folder with discrete files stored therein.

That sounds like the right way to do it.

Let me try to reproduce the problem here, I don't know why it's not working for you.

Let me ask, where is LBC saving its settings.ini and .mcp file now that you have changed your configdir.ini file?
Is it saving in the user documents directory, or is it still saving in the program files directory?

Go to the Backup/Maintenance tab.
There you can specify a list of which fields to export.
8548
I've uploaded a new version with a rewritten export function.
Once I get some positive beta tester reports that the new functions are working I would like to release this as a new official release.

By the way, one of the new options for exporting is that you can specify a smaller number of fields to export -- should make it a bit easier to export just what you need.

If someone can suggest some common sets of fields that one might want to export, i can put some sample lists available as a dropdown to make it easy to switch between common choices.
