The define alias is in the Core_Aliases\Core-Linguistics.alias if you want to see what it looks like to learn how to make a similar one:

Screenshot - 12_25_2013 , 8_08_46 PM.png

Note: It may not make a difference these days, but internet urls should probably use $$u1 instead of $$1, since $$u1 will fix up any spaces and quotes, etc.

Note 2: If you want to make an alias to do what you want and share it with others, check out some of the alias zip files that others have shared on the forum, like one of my favorite ones, for tracking packages: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=11333.0  -- doing so will let you create some icons as well, to make it more enjoyable for people to use the alias.

Just as an example, there's a built in alias in FARR called "define", which basically defines a number of web searches for a word you type.

Type "define urgent" and you'll see this:
Screenshot - 12_25_2013 , 8_04_28 PM.png

Now if you hit Enter it will open the FIRST result -- or you can trigger the individual results you want.

Or -- and this is what you asked for - you can hit Ctrl+Alt+Enter to open ALL results at once (which in your browser should open each in it's own tab).

You could do this very easily using Find and Run Robot.  Once you created an "alias" to do this, you could share it with others easily as well.

Living Room / Ghacks.net website asking for donations
« Last post by mouser on December 24, 2013, 09:51 AM »
Ghacks.net is one of those independent websites that covers the free software scene, and has frequently featured DonationCoder applications and events.  It's one of our favorite websites.

Martin Brinkman, who runs ghacks, posted today that he is asking users who like the site to make a donation of any amount, which will entitle you to some special benefits on the site.

"What can be achieved however is to reduce the dependency on advertisement and search engine traffic. My hope is that it is possible to reduce it to a point where I do not have to worry about that at all anymore. Even if all traffic from search engines would die, I'd still be able to maintain this site and keep on doing what I'm doing."

We know how hard it is to raise funds from donations, so let's do our part to support ghacks and small independent sites like his -- go donate now!

Have you tried deleting or (better) expunging the file F:\Scripts\headphones.bat, and recreating it afresh, and then seeing if the error repeats?

that is a good idea.

I may have messed with the autohide in my form resizing behavior.
Can you go and UNCHECK the option to autosize form even when docked (see general options tab); see if that helps.

If that doesn't help, can you try to describe the problem in a little more detail?

in the final minute the sound alert for the Zeno continues to go off, even though I've set it not to go off after 60 sec

can you be more specific and elaborate what happens?

Remember that if you intend to use PBOL just for giving you Zeno alerts, you can keep it minimized in the tray at all times, no need to have it docked or visible.

The only thing to remember is that when you enable this feature, its always going to fade out all alerts.

I was thinking it might be nice to add a feature that would let you set some events whose alerts should NOT be automatically faded out.  If you enable the automatic fading you could miss an important event if you are away from the pc.

the itemxml file.

you may want to open it up in a text editor to see if maybe it became corrupt and that's the cause of the crashing?
there should also be an itemxml.bak backup file.

Hmm..

Make sure program isnt running and then rename (rename not delete so you can get your old items back later) the folder My Documents\DonationCoder\ProgressBarsOfLife

That should remove any existing settings that must be causing the problem.

There's no reason you should go back to the old version; use the new version and I'll get it working for you.

Yes, when you uninstall it leaves your old settings. I'm not sure why the old version is balking with the new settings, but that's likely the cause.

However, your screeenshot about it not fitting -- just drag the bottom of the window to resize it -- that's normal that you might have to do that the first time.

ps.
I noticed that my initial sample settings may put the form off screen for people, so i'll have to release an update today I've uploaded a new version.

how strange, no error here when searching for it.. i wonder what it could be.. i've never seen this kind of problem before..
i might have to send you a debug version of FARR to help us pinpoint the place in code that it's dying.
