Agree.I just bought a copy last night. Didn't even wait for my trial to expire.
That's not something I'll do all that often.-40hz (April 05, 2014, 03:52 PM)
I've established a new semi-rule (is that a word) for myself. Unless something I'm already using isn't working; or I need some capability not being addressed by tools I already have - it's no new writing/ideation software until I complete at least one project I'm already working on.This is something I am learning from guys like you as well. As I mentioned, my search for tools like these led me at one point to doing it in Autocad. Which only works for me because I am a total expert at it, not because it's a good way to do it. But even then, it was still a bit de-spiring lol. Like, the inspiration will hit, you try to go record it on the computer...and the tools destroy the inspiration (Visio, Personal Brain). Well, that's no good-40hz (April 05, 2014, 02:06 PM)
!I don't know what mood you've been in this week...but I like it!Vista for Vurbal, XP for me-4wd (March 29, 2014, 09:25 PM)

Sorry. I couldn't resist. (Although I probably should have.)

Sure does!
I think it's a riot how she mirrors Mick's stage moves - and then does them 10X better. Talk about getting pwned!![]()

Definitely check out 20 Feet from Stardom. These ladies have talent, brains, and above all, class. Their interviews and comments speak volumes about the music industry - and those people that make it work despite their contributions remaining mostly unacknowledged. I expected there to be some bitterness in places. But there wasn't any. Just a lot of laughter, philosophical perspective, and the occasional moments of sadness about the break that never seemed to come despite promises made.
It's on NetFlix. Watch it.-40hz (March 31, 2014, 06:07 AM)
Just finished watching the docu-bio flick Twenty Feet from Startdom (highly recommended btw) which examines the crucial but often under-credited role of the backup singer.
In the course of the movie, they played this segment from the 1995 tour by the Rolling Stones which included the incomparable Lisa Fischer in an eye opening performance of Gimme Shelter. Lisa kicks into high gear around the 2:25 mark and shows The Stones what fronting a rock vocal is supposed to be about:
Thanks Mick! Why don't you take the rest of the night off and leave Lisa and the boys to handle the rest of the show.-40hz (March 30, 2014, 08:25 PM)

Last week, it was revealed that Microsoft had examined the Hotmail/Outlook.com emails of a blogger, who was NOT a Microsoft employee, in order to find who had leaked confidential information to that person. What's a good alternative? I am also looking for an email/calendar service with more privacy protection than what is available. I am not having any luck. If I don't find one, I am planning on using Microsoft's Exchange Online ($4/month per user) service.
It seems this is legal because, under Microsoft’s terms of use, the company has the right to examine any user’s data for any reason they see fit.
This is very different from data mining user data to sell advertising, and it makes me wonder why anyone in their right mind would consider using Office 365 for any reason at all.-xtabber (March 27, 2014, 03:59 PM)
hey! it rhymes!Seriously, why does everything have to behave like a portal these days?-40hz (March 25, 2014, 05:25 PM)

Microsoft Office!
It works like it does because our plan
For our precious bottom line
Requires we move you online...
So it's no use crying that it's all a mistake
We'll just keep on trying, and we'll tell you "Eat cake!"
While the meters run
'neath the brave new sun
Of a world where cloud service firms thrive...-40hz (March 25, 2014, 07:32 PM)

But it is better than most of what's out there - despite the popularity of all the faux-science and "paranormal phenomenon" shows on the so-called 'science' channels if you're not a diehard UFO or conspiracy buff.-40hz (March 18, 2014, 05:44 PM)
