I still have this system with all the games.  Anyone remember or even hear of Vectrex?

This is the first PC game I can recall playing:

Forgot about that game.  I loved that game.  I thought the graphics were amazing at that time...

If you like Atari 2600 check this out...

Also, inlcuded in the above Link is Mame32 - this lets you play all those old arcade games.  I probably have around 1500 games in my Mame32 collection right now...

I used to play Conan: Hall of Volta on the Apple IIe.  That was a great game for its time.

Also, I remember typing in the code for games for the Commodore Vic 20 and storing it on a cassette drive.  There was a game I spent hours, and hours typing in from a magazine that I ended up playing anytime I turned it on.   Just can't remember the name...

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Locate 3.0 - great HD search tool
« Last post by Veign on April 14, 2006, 06:22 PM »
Veign,

Give Seeker a try and tell me what you think..

    * Regular expression support

Regexps are nice, but I'd prefer Boolean searches for extracting information from files.  Also, I often want to make lists of files for use in other processes;  can it save its "hit lists?"

There are four reporting modes for search / replace results.  Two of them are text-file based which can be saved and printed.

Also, there is now support for looking inside of Word and Excel files (Excel search will report what sheet and cells the search items had been found).

The application was created out of need for a fast and easy to use search and replace tool.  I wanted something I could tweak to be exactly what I need.

Should also add its Donationware to follow the spirit of this website...

For a true SyncTool I like MS's SyncToy.  This tool works great, is fast, and is free...

Check it out.  It gets you the detailed information on the Process.  Very helpful when troubleshooting and the often cryptic process names..

This application makes things that much easier.

I saw they have a form you could fill out to get information on making an offer but the form fails.  Its a shame to have a domain that stands for something and just park it doing nothing with it...
837
Now DC just needs to go after and acquire the Donationware.com domain name.  That would be a great addition for this site and its movement.

The color scheme will be worked on and re-worked based on user input for the 3.0 release.  Also, will be looking into a magnifier and possibly adding a mini-mode where the application can be shrunk down to its most basic and useful functions in a smaller footprint...
839
Just released a new release that fixes some minor issues and I went ahead and added a basic color scheme component.  The color scheme component can be launched in the main window and change as any color is selected or be launched as a remote window per a selected color (it locks into that color scheme so you could float over a design)...

Developer's Corner / Re: First Program - how do I convert it from .bas to .exe?
« Last post by Veign on March 27, 2006, 02:21 PM »
BAS in what?  VB / VBA?
842
That's short?  I hate to see his long version.
843
I see what you are saying.  RegEx doesn't provide a mechanism for incrementing a value it's replacing.  I have used only simple regular expressions.

Thanx for clearing that up.
844
I am not too good with regular Expressions but my Seeker application supports them.  Then you could check out one of the RegEx library sites / forums to see if this is possible with a single RegEx.

Regular Expression Library:

Regular-Expressions.info:

Also, after using it if there are features you would like to see added just contact me directly - always looking to improve the application based on user feedback.

Wimpy is something I have kept in the back of my mind for a long time.  Its a very nice tool and the prices are right.
846
This is something I came across a long time ago and saved.

Also, the Wimpy Player comes recommened for a more powerful and professional solution.

General Software Discussion / Re: Favorite Text Editor, a revisit

Mine is still EmEditor.
848
Thanx for the suggestions.  Gives me a lot to think about.  I like the idea of some sort of drop-down the history that lets you change the color scheme...
849
I have added the Auto Save History on Exit option to the color history's right-click menu.  I am holding off on releasing to see if any new suggestions come or bugs.  I may also try to get a very basic color scheme window added to get a feel for how users would like to see it in the application.

I should be releasing this version sometime this week.  If you want a preview copy Mouser just email me....

Interesting idea with preserving the history.  I will add a Save History on Exit option to the hisotry's drop-down...
