Finished Programs / Re: SuperClick
« Last post by tomos on October 01, 2009, 09:23 AM »
wow, thanks 937o5 :)

it's something I've needed without having ever thought of it (for windows at any rate). I'm a hater of the double-click, mainly due to shoulder problems in my mouse arm.

1) is that code an AHK script? - yes, just tried it!
2) and just in case: you mention a possible ini file - could you make sure it has a distinctive name (cause it will be in my AHK scripts folder where there is already an unidentified "Settings.ini" file)
3) and eh . . dumb question time ;) - why would one want a delay?

General Software Discussion / Re: Windows vs. Mac: I'm starting to change.

re photoshop:
could it be a software issue? - what with Photoshop being sold to so many amatuer photographers (I suspect they're it's biggest market these days) you'd think Adobe would make it work properly on windows machines.

it certainly used to be true that graphics software was designed for the mac (and vice-versa maybe?*) with windows versions being more of an afterthought.
* graphics apps used work on macs with much lower specs than were necessary on windows machines - but I think that's all in the past now.. unfortunately though, I suspect they still often treat windows versions as second class apps

And then there's the CONTROL that macs have on the hardware aspect of things - there's pros & cons there.
I think a problem with custom built compared to macs (or any quality pre-made machine) is that the mix of parts arent tested on any scale in the custom computer...

General Software Discussion / Re: MOGware's FileHamster (Complaint)
« Last post by tomos on September 30, 2009, 08:41 AM »
Could someone please inform me how to get rid the constant sound of a boxing glove that is part of a Filehamster's buuble ad? I can accept its appearance once, but the moment Filehamster initiates and keeps a copy, this annoying sound repeats itself until I close Filehamster. I will have to uninstall the program if there's no solution.

that's funny - I dont get that and it's not in options here (FH 'Advanced') - is that the free version that you're using?
(maybe it's another 'incentive' to purchase :-\)

lanux: you just gave bad news:
MSE will be offered to users in 19 countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
No Portugal :(

maybe they mean it will be actively offered (windows update?) to users only in these countries.
(which would mean it would work anywhere - if that's the case)
8231

FWIW I've had hard links not work properly on two different computers in spite of many attempts (there's a few older threads here about hard links here at dc - for anyone who's interested in the possibilities do a search)

doing a bunch of PDFs as Lanux suggested - using print to PDF driver.

Mouser - any chance you could give 'Print screenshot' a shortcut?
many thanks for all the work on this and I hope I dont come across as too demanding - sometimes I think I get carried on the 'legality' betas/development gives to the user to being demanding and critical.

Speaking of which :-[ :D
'Print screenshot' remembers the margin numbers but always reverts to Inches - so if I set Margins to 2 cm all round, the next print has them at 2 inches

edit/ also wanted to say it's a joy to use - this is so nice and clean but has all the important options covered

It was on my list anyway, so when I saw this thread I just added it: XYplorer 8.50 will have Manual Sorting (in all views, even in Details view!).

(A BETA version is already available now for registered users.)
sounds great :-*
as mentioned above this would be especially helpful in thumbnail view (for many people).

edit/ off to get the beta . .

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Plugin to help FARR beat DirectoryOpus
« Last post by tomos on September 29, 2009, 03:23 AM »
The reason I don't use DOpus all the time, is that I am forced to type friggin asterisk wildcards and if if I type, for example, *green*house* instead of *house*green*, it refuses to find the file.

Have you reported that in the DOpus forum ?
it sounds like something that they would want to (and need to!) fix

Of course why a collective of people who seem to be mostly involved in grundge-style urban art and bumper stickers would be so offended by Comic Sans is anybody's guess...

see the Ban Comic Sans Flicker group - looks like a (barely supressed) love fest to me

Just occurred to me - what do you mean by Beamer, Tom? A BMW or a multi-media projector?

LOL, well the BMW-Beemer would more suit the people throwing the party in the 'other' thread

first thing to do is watch this and laugh at it and agree not to be like these people:

« Last post by tomos on September 25, 2009, 04:20 PM »
Nuri, tell us what's on all those discs so we can tell you what to use to copy them. If it's all stuff like pictures, music and stuff you've burned on them yourself you won't have any troubles.

If it's store-bought games, music, movies, etc. you're going to need something more than just ImgBurn.

Stuff I burned myself, nearly all of my stuff from my first burner till present year.
I want to throw out the discs and use only harddrive for keeping my stuff.

you'll need a backup though :)

do you have a beamer Mike?
that might help, or might make it too much like a presentation?
Are there no guidelines from MS?

How do you apply? ('FREE' always gets me going :-[)
What's to stop you just having a nice party and not paying too much attention to Win.7 (or whats to stop you from just taking your free disk and doing nothing... I grew up in a land of corruption - that was the first question that came to my mind)

sorry for the barrage of questions - answer whichever you want ;)

Thanks Marc

on the second offer (2010 version) I get offered this file when downloading:

do you happen to know if that correct?

or maybe the people on that video are trapped in a hellish world of continual windows 7 parties and party planning 24 hours a day.
HAHAHAHA!

they wake up every morning, check the date - damn, it's windows 7 day again

who can reliably make CHS fail to paste into the last active window -- are you willing to test versions of CHS if i upload for you -- to help me diagnose the problem?

It fails very regularly here mouser - but not reliably in the sense I cant predict exactly when it will fail.
Happy to test if you want.

If it's any consolation I had problems with ditto as well (I missed too many CH&S features as well so still using). Havent tried any other apps.

BTW that option is ticked here
