Hi Amy, and welcome to the site.  We are here to help.
As josh says -- which program of ours are you trying to put the license key into?

I know I've said this half jokingly before, but in all seriousness if we could find a multi-family property where 10 of us like-minded individuals/families that work from home could each put up our share of a mortgage -- a place with some retail ground floor space where we could have a little board game shop or maker space or teaching space or something, a place that could be improved and developed over the course of a few years.. maybe a shared car or two, i'm ready to put in my share and labor. Seriously.  Anyone?

Someplace near upstate ny would work best for me but i'm open to literally anywhere.

Living Room / Re: Need a free survey site
« Last post by mouser on May 12, 2014, 06:17 PM »
Resurrecting an old thread to mention that I just used SurveyMonkey to make a small survey for a handful of people.

It was easy to sign up, create a  survey, send it out, look at results. The whole process could not have been smoother.

As stated by original poster, there is a 10 question (and 100 responder) limit for the free version (other plans are available but start at $26/month, ouch) -- and it looks like the free version is still going strong after 7 years.

So if you have a little survey with < 10 questions, I can heartily recommend SurveyMonkey.

Try redownloading the new alpha version i think i fixed it.

im getting similar behavior, looks like i didnt nail this one.. back to work for me.. stay tuned.

Thanks for sharing, Edvard -- very cool.
7783
Ok, that I can add -- especially since it doesn't require any additional options checkboxes.
7784
Not sure what you are asking.

Screenshot Captor / Re: SC freezes in 'Scanner Options'
« Last post by mouser on May 10, 2014, 06:47 PM »
Hi lojomu.

That is troubling! SC is no doubt trying to get the list of scanners from the system at that point -- I wonder what could be making it hang.
I'd really like to resolve the issue so I may have to send you some debug versions to try to help me pin down the cause.
If old versions worked the new versions should be able to be made to work.

Can you try this version (4.0):

One way it could be done is to use a modifier in the search like "+autolaunch" that means to launch the result when there is only one.
You can already restrict results to only show alias matches by adding "+alias".

So then you can configure in the FARR hotkeys, a hotkey that will start the search box with:
"+alias +launchone "
and then just start typing and it would only show alias results and launch as soon as the results were narrowed down to only one result.
7787
So, having a second list i think would be too confusing and too much work.
But adding an option that says: launch any alias result as soon as it's the only one in the results -- that i could add with relatively little difficulty.  If you think that would be useful i wouldn't mind adding that.

I make no claim that thebat is better than any other client these days -- i have no idea.  just listing the programs that *i* depend on and appreciate.

Let me look into this and how date pasting differs from the other stuff.
In both cases, CHS *SHOULD* be smart enough to check to make sure it has changed to the target application successfully before pasting, but it's quite possible i'm mucking something up..

Find And Run Robot / Re: Possible to autocomplete url.

you could make some aliases that would help you do this.

One option would be to make an alias that had all of your favorites websites, so you could type something like "myweb mynet" and it would filter down to www.mynet.com and launch it.
Or you could make an alias that matched any string and opened www.MYSTRING.com that could be used similarly.
Or you could try the farrfox addon for searching web bookmarks in firefox and internet explorer (requires a bit of extra work now with new versions of firefox).

UrlSnooper / Re: URLSnooper Not Snooping on Wi-Fi
« Last post by mouser on May 10, 2014, 01:34 PM »
I know there are some issues with certain intel wifi cards especially, thought I occasionally here that other WinPCap tools work with them recently, which suggests that URL Snooper should be easily fixable in those limited cases.  So the first thing I always ask people is to try another winpcap-based tool and see if it works.

I hate myself when I put off responding to such posts and then they slip away from me.. I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply.  That normally happens when I don't have a good answer :(
I don't know why the C# plugins shouldn't work on windows 8.1.  Maybe someone has a clue?  Does the error say anything useful?
7793
It's an interesting idea and well described.

It's closely related to an idea I *was* convinced to add, which is a way to make an alias that launches as soon as you fully type it (see here).

I am a bit hesitant about your suggestion because of the potential for FARR launching things due to typos, etc.

However, a middle ground might be an option that automatically launches a single-result alias as soon as it is typed exactly (and completely).
That would make it easier to add short aliases that launch as soon as you type them.

"09 - Bring FARR to front when relaunching FARR"
I like easy ones like this.
I'm looking at your list.. since I have new betas of LBC and SC released, it's time for FARR and CHS to get their chance.  Stay tuned.

Hi Anand.
I do plan to update Process Tamer this year and incorporate some new features.

Fantastic find, thanks for sharing.

Every experimental scientist should be forced to keep those printed out in a book to caution them before jumping to conclusions about how variables might be related.

Excellent.  I'm happy to hear requests for more such commandline functions, and I will try to make a smaller helper utility and/or support windows messages for faster triggering of these functions.

Hi dps.

Actually in that case, the QCB is no more visible as it is displayed "outside" of the main screen and the only way to bring it back on the main screen is to connect a secondary screen, move the QCB on the main screen and close ScreenShotCaptor.

I know what you are talking about -- what I need to do at least is try to make it detect this situation and correct it.  I have code that should do this, let me put it to work in Screenshot Captor.

I'm not following what you are trying to say -- can you elaborate?
