The Codymobile may be arriving on Thursday..
Stay tuned and keep fingers crossed.

I still don't have the decal to put on it -- so i will need that soon.

Can you check this:

Go to "Startup Options" tab, and look where it says "Inactive Memory Use" -- and make sure you don't have it set to "Stay in Memory Longer" (try Minimal Memory Use).
I don't know if that will solve it -- it may be polling for changes to the screenshot folder to check for changes.. If so, i *might* be able to add an option to disable that.. though it could be messy.

Living Room / Blog Essay: The Indie (Game) Bubble Is Popping
« Last post by mouser on May 25, 2014, 05:18 AM »
Rock, Paper, Shotgun continues to be a great site for thoughtful commentary on videogames.  Today they point to a long blog essay on independent game developers, and the idea that we've seen a growing trend of indie games that has reached its apex, producing an unsustainable number of generic low-quality games, which is making it harder to find quality projects.

Indie gaming started out as games written with passion for people who embraced and loved them. Now too much of it is about churning out giant mounds of decent but undifferentiated product to be bought for pennies by people who don't give a crap either way. It's not sustainable...

Is the problem only when you are scanning?

On the Scanning tab you can set it to always scan in grayscale -- might that be your issue?

Screenshot Captor has a couple of ways of making PDFs -- one is in the SaveAs dialog.  Another is you can select a bunch of images and make a multipage PDF of all of them combines.

How strange -- it's saving in color for me.
Let me ask if you take a screenshot, then do File -> Save As and then choose pdf, is it still grayscale?

Updated link since the original got taken down.

Although I am more traditionalist in terms of my user interface preferences -- I appreciate how you have a very distinct sense of style.  Whether it's your application user interfaces or your annotated screenshots, it's very distinctive.  If you ever feel like telling us a bit about how you developed it, etc. it would be interesting to read.

This sounds very weird and like it's not Screenshot Captor's doing..
I'm not entirely sure what you are describing as happening.

Perhaps we can try to simplify and you could let me know what happens if you try to capture other windows besides VLC, but in same basic way.

I solved the problem by switching from a DisplayPort cable to a DVI cable.

Living Room / Re: Our experiences with LED light bulb replacements
« Last post by mouser on May 23, 2014, 12:24 PM »
Another caveat i've found with replacing some of my incandescent bulbs is that even if you get an LED that is the same size as an A19 (standard bulb), sometimes the base is thicker which prevents it from screwing in all the way -- and thus will not power on.

Conclusion: Buy your LED bulbs from someplace where you can return them.

Can't be done -- you can't attach files to personal messages sent through the forum.

Sounds like a bug -- I shall look into it and report.

This has been requested before -- it's an interesting idea.. Let me chew on it a bit.

In the meantime, let me tell you about a tip that you may not know about that makes all the difference in the world when dealing with an image larger than the viewpoint in SC:

TIP: You can right-click to drag and pan the image when it is zoomed.

That one tip makes all the difference in the world when it comes to working with large images.
