That of course, is the most cruel and ironic problem with writing long posts -- sometimes the more work you put into writing a long post, the less likely it is that others will be able to absorb it all and be able to respond..

So what would it be like to live with no irrational cognitive biases?  Boring?  Enlightened?  Insane?  I really wonder...

I think the real answer to this is important and gets to the whole point of why humans naturally and automatically acquire biases.

Without biases you would be a terribly ineffecient computational device -- slow to react and learn.

I might as well add a hybrid installer

I used to use a single zip-compatible installer for my apps, for quite some time.  I can tell you that the switch to 2 separate downloads, one a standard installer, and one a simple zip file, made things cleaner and less troublesome.  Especially with regard to download problems and code signing stuff.  So I recommend having two separate downloads.

Let me start by saying: Don't leave.

This forum is filled to with eccentrics, oddballs, weirdos, nerds, etc.  Many are experts in one area and novices in another.  Some are young kids and others are little old ladies.  And we try to all get along and embrace our eccentricities.

No one is immune from some criticism and gentle prodding, and each of us has to find our place here, and find a way to get something beneficial from this place, and at the same time make this place more useful to others.  We can ALL benefit from advice, guidance, constructive criticism.

In that spirit, please accept what turns out to be very generic advice given to many forum participants over the many years we've been around -- advice I would do well to remember myself sometimes -- which is that brevity and conciseness are often worth their weight in gold.  It's not something that everyone has to be enslaved to all the time -- but it is something worth spending some effort on -- especially for those of us who can be verbose.

Anyway, the main point i'm trying to make is that, for better or worse, is that once you make yourself at home here we don't like to let you go

A gentle suggestion that it's better to split up posts (especially longish posts) into logical pieces.  The shorter and more concise and focused a post is, the easier it is to read, digest, and respond to.
For example there are some nice animal threads on the forum that would be a better place for your #3s.

BTW, if you really want to get user friendly, you need an installer. There are so many people I would recommend this software to, except they would not know how to install it. The portable version is nice, but a fully installed version would be nice, too.

If the t-clock coders (WhiteTigX/stoic joker/etc) want, I have an inno setup installer script I use to build my DonationCoder apps that could be used if desired, in quick order and I'd be happy to provide the script customized for T-Clock.  The other option would be for me to build the installer version and host the download at DonationCoder -- the only real advantages of that would be 1) if there are bandwidth issues, and 2) i would be able to sign the installer with DonationCoder official code signing certificate, for authenticity.

Nice find Tomos.  Julien do you use the "Don't Autosave Captures" option, or any other unusual copy-to-clipboard process? Or can you check different ways of having SC put the image on the clipboard and see if it makes a difference?
It does sound like perhaps some situation is happening where CHS Screenshot Captor is not saving the correct DPI value.
