Thats because of the winvermin and winvermax -- they tell FARR only to show certain items depending on the version of windows.

Ok so i've finally climbed back down into the dark tunnel of the Point Motivator source code to look into this..

There is no super easy fix, but there are a few options to enable this:

1. I could add a global option that says to report points as dollars (or user defined currency), so that instead of the main display saying "300 points" it would say "$3.00"
And then probably make the same change to the charts and summary reports.
But this would leave all of the dialogs and settings exactly as they are, so that when configuring things you would use "100" to mean "$1.00"

2. I could try to more properly convert everything to floating point values.

you say you "renamed" the old alias -- can you  be more precise? the filename has no effect on the search match.

It may simply be a case of the cpanel alias not having the Network Connections item for Windows 7/8.

Please try the new cpanel.alias fix above from josh to see if that adds your Network Connections item to the list when you type: cpanel

If so I will add it to the official release.

Updated cpanel alias with josh's fix:

Copy this new version over your installed version at C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\AliasGroups\Installed\cpanel\cpanel.alias
Then restart FARR.

Normally you would leave the quick capture bar visible (or docked and sliding out of the way) and not have to turn it on and off from the view menu, except for the very first time you use it perhaps.

Also, you can toggle it from the Screenshot Captor system tray menu -- which would be the easier way to do it if you did want to turn it on or off.

URL Snooper still requires the WinPCap library to be installed on the machine.  The WinPCap installer is launched automatically by the URL Snooper installer, but will have to be run manually on machines where you are trying to run URL Snooper portably.

I realize these makes URL Snooper portable use somewhat less convenient, but it's out of my hands.

It *MIGHT* be possible to use the WinPCap DLLs somewhat portably with out running the WinPCap installer, and putting thee DLLS in the URL Snooper directory -- if someone figures out how, let us know.

Screenshot Captor should run fine on a Windows 8 machine.

Can you explain a bit more what happens?  You were able to start Screenshot Captor and put in a license key?
Or did it never start up at all?
Is it running and unresponsive, or not listed at all in the task manager?
If it's running, can you see it's icon in the system tray (bottom right), and can you right-click on it to get a menu?

Hi RRider, thank you for taking the time to post.

Everyone has different desires from a clipboard tool and there are a lot of them out there -- so no reason you shouldn't keep searching until you find the perfect one for you.


Just a few quick comments:

First, the free version of CHS (like all of our apps) is not limited in any way -- there are no features disabled or restricted.

However, by default CHS is configured to "archive" clips after a certain number of days.  By this I mean that CHS originally puts new clips into the "New" group, but then moves them after a few days from the New to Old group, and then eventually from Old to Trash, and then eventually deleting from Trash).  The purpose here is to make it easier to locate more recent stuff.  NOTE: You can search ALL clips by selected the top "ALL" node.

In addition, CHS by default only show RECENT clips (from the last day or so by default) on the quick paste popup menu.


You can change both of these things.

You can change how often clips are moved from the "New" to the "Old" group in the "Backup/Maintenance" tab.  You can disable this feature completely if you like.

To change the default behavior that only shows recent clips on the quick paste pop-up menu, it's a bit trickier -- unnecessarily complex i would agree: On the menu window right click on the "Quick Paste" group, and choose "Edit this Group", then in the box next to SQL, you can DELETE the phrase "AND CreationDateTime > DateTimeMinusOneDay" or perhaps change it to "AND CreationDateTime > DateTimeMinusThirtyDays"

Perhaps something in your settings is responsible for the problem..

Try this:

Exit Screenshot Captor.  Go to your MyDocuments\DonationCoder\ScreenshotCaptor directory, and rename your ScreenshotCaptor.ini file to ScreenshotCaptor_OLDBACKUP.ini, so that Screenshot Captor will not see it.
Now restart Screenshot Captor and see if it's fixed.

If so, please email me ([email protected]) the bad ScreenshotCaptor_OLDBACKUP.ini settings file so we can try to figure out what caused the problem.
