May I also add http://isohunt.com which offers a similar service, and often has extremely interesting news and views on the various attacks there have been on file-sharing services.

Thanks Ralf, I shall have a look. The use of Alt Gr is the clue I imagine.

EDIT: Ok, I see the problem - I'll see what I can do to get this fixed shortly.

Thanks, I'll check my settings one more time. Instant search used to be off, but I have lost those settings several times, and not really noticed in time to try and figure out why.

I'm gonna start with the thinking over the holiday, and see if there are any Big Ideas bubbling around in there. The DC skillset must encompass every aspect of even the largest project I reckon.

Living Room / Re: Scorecard Research Survey (NSFW) - Ed. Wordpress hacked?
« Last post by timns on December 21, 2010, 09:11 PM »
Looks like this is "legal hacking"...

Got another response from Wordpress:

Hi,

We truly apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for reporting this to us!

James | Happiness Engineer | WordPress.com and IntenseDebate

Ahem... In short, Scorecard screwed Wordpress by changing their agreement. You know who does that? Darth Vader. That's who! What total douches...

If I were WordPress I would drop those mothers and warn the entire community away from them.

But then again, I'm not a Happiness Engineer. I'm a Bitter and Twisted Engineer.

I really like looking around here and checking out the newest programs.
Good luck to all participants and thanks to mouser, Perry Mowbray and everyone else for making this possible.
I've shown this to some fellow programmers, hopefully they'll put something cool up :) if not this year, then next year.
Unfortunately I've not found the time (and necessary skills) to make a usable program. Reading this makes me want to work harder :)

I like comments like this - at some point I hope that NANY apps will appear that are results of a lot more collaboration where maybe miva2 and some others will get together and create a masterpiece

You know, the minimizing stuff is still not right.
I'm talking about when minimize to tray is set on.
Launch, then hit close to minimize to tray.
Goes to tray but also sits on the task bar (XP SP3).
Double-click on the task-bar item and nothing happens.
Can't right-click restore from the task-bar item either.

Also, doesn't respect 'not show' splash screen (I know it's lovely but… )

That'll give you something to think about as you hang around in frozen airports for the next week or so.

-cranioscopical (December 21, 2010, 05:42 PM)

Yes, I'm still looking at that. I can tell you WHY that dumb window hangs around - it's Windows thinking that because I have a lovely little popup window flying about, that I'd like a honking great button in the taskbar too.

Some of the little option thingies (like the splash) are not hooked up. It's all on the todo: list, and as soon as I can get a bit of a breather from work I'll sweep up all these little niggles. Thanks for your patience!

On my Firefox, Google has no thumbnails.

Mine did, but now they are gone again. FF itself blocking somehow?

scroll all down and select old classic view.

I'm sure you're right, but I can't find it at the moment. I'll kill my browser and try again later, so thanks!

Tested with Word and Notepad (XP and Vista). All other E-Mail-adresses are also not working. They worked correct with v.0.65.

I am at a loss! STILL working here, with your exact Replacement set up.

Could someone else try this too please?

Mr Ralfso, I'd like to get a look at the XML that Auspex has created for that Replacement... would that be possible?

In addition, in case anyone else is hunting around similarly:

The original X-COM, "UFO: Enemy Unknown" ticked so many boxes for me. It's the only game I've ever played through three full times. There's an updated version which is really nice here: http://ufo.ufo-extraterrestrials.com/   - and it's only $4.99!?

Similar game I played several years ago:
UFO - Alien Invasion

Christmas has come early :) Thanks.

I was actually after this:

But having seen what YOU found - I'll take the X-Com pack! Is my donation still acceptable?
