This is a really intriguing project to award large monetary prizes for developing open source educational self-teaching software:

The United Nations estimates 58 million children from ages 6 to 11 don’t attend school, a number that has remained stubbornly stagnant since the middle of the last decade.

One nonprofit believes it has the solution: Create software so exciting to use that kids will want to teach themselves.

X-Prize is challenging entrepreneurs to develop open-source software that children can use to acquire basic literacy and arithmetic skills on their own.

"It’s based on the supposition, still unproven, that kids can teach themselves how to read and write," says Matt Keller, director of the Global Learning X-Prize.

The five best submissions will receive $1-million each to test their software in 100 villages in an English-speaking part of sub-Saharan Africa. The best of those five will receive a $10-million prize so long as the software improves learning....

"My guess is the team that wins is going to be the team that develops something so sticky, so dynamic, so engaging that kids are enthralled by it," says Mr. Keller. "They’re going to learn in spite of themselves."

much clearer, and the idea of having the thumbnail panel as detachable IS something that might be a lot more feasible; let me try.

dluby requested exact same feature as you yesterday so i added it overnight.

Would you consider an option to not resize, but e.g. centre one image beside the other, using the existing option "transparent etc" to fill in the 'background' ?
already done. redownload beta.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: After reboot/login

It's clearly having trouble saving where it's trying to save, and that explains your problems.
What you could do is edit the ConfigDir.ini file in the LaunchBarCommander installed program files directory, and change where it saves its settings to someplace where it has write access.

It should be remembering.. Can you try this, get the file loaded and dock sized the way you want, then exit the program manually, and restart it.
If it remembers it when you launch the program again, it should remember it on computer restart after that.
Also, please make sure you are using the latest version.

Let me give this a little more thought.. I suppose there are two ways to approach this -- once is to have a toggle somewhere (available with hotkey perhaps) that switches the SC interface to a mode where the ONLY thing visible in the entire window is the image, hiding all other interface items.  The other would be to have a way to break our the main image panel to a window of its own that could be maximized on a different screen.  Both options seem kind of awkward for SC..

You should be able to edit it in that box and have it take effect,  as long as the folder exists.

Good ideas, putting them on todo list.

try putting it in the screenshot captor Tools directory, like so:

ScreenshotCaptor\Tools\ShareX\ShareX.exe or ScreenshotCaptor\Tools\ShareX\ShareXMod.exe

let me know if that works.
7186
yes, good idea i will do so.

My personal opinion is that in a thread about silly humor, we could do without the thinly veiled religious/political insult posts.
You may find it funny, but it's contrary to the spirit of this site.

I've been using AVG for the last 6 months (combined with their Firewall), and I've been very pleased with it.

Redownload beta, there is a new option to not resize.

UrlSnooper found a url of
rtmp://ewtn.mpl.miisolutions.net:1935/ewtn-live-1/_definst_?videoId=1721600232001&lineUpId=&pubId=1675170007001&playerId=2112648932001&affiliateId=

but i couldn't get any further than that, and couldn't figure out how to get Net Transport to record it.

And then i tried some experimenting, combining some other url stuff shown by UrlSnooper, and came up with this, which appears to be a valid rtmp video stream of the live stream:
rtmp://ewtn.mpl.miisolutions.net/ewtn-live-1/_definst_/900.mp4

And NetTransport *WAS* able to download and record that, *HOWEVER* I could not get an audio from the recorded stream of that.. not sure why, maybe someone else can assist with that..
7191
yes, seems logical to add that.

Nothing groundbreaking but may be informative to some:
Understanding How Open Source Software Developers Make Money
http://www.makeuseof...velopers-make-money/

"There are many myths about open source software (OSS) and perhaps the most common is this: open source and profit are mutually exclusive...The truth is: many OSS developers and projects do generate revenue. Some earn just enough money to survive while others produce so much money that they put proprietary alternatives to shame. How’s that for irony?"

I've added a new feature to the latest beta of Screenshot Captor (4.8.7), which will let you "combine" images if you drop an image file onto the current image.
The "combine" options are fairly limited at this point -- essentially it will just lay out the dropped image on any side of the existing image, and let you choose how the images are resized.

This is a quick and easy way of combining images horizontally or vertically, and doing so in a visually appealing manner.

Download beta here: https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=3474.0

For combination of many images, or for combining images into grids (as opposed to rows or columns) see the excellent standalone free tool "ImageGrid" made by dc member vlastimil: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=29464.0

Assuming you downloaded the program from this website, it's definitely a false positive.

I don't remember Sophos endpoint doing this before, but it is definitely a false positive (the antivirus program is wrong).  More info about this here: https://www.donation...earch=false+positive

You are right to treat such warnings seriously of course -- however never trust an antivirus program to be correct.  The thing to do in this case is check out an antivirus site that will check multiple antivirus engines.  I recommend VirusTotal: https://www.virustotal.com/

I have just uploaded and scanned ScreenshotCaptor 4.8.5 with virustotal and it reports that all 55 antivirus engines, INCLUDING Sophos antivirus finds it clean and safe (see here: https://www.virustot...a63344f1b8/analysis/)

So i guess one question would be, why is your sophos endpoint flagging it, but the sophos used by Virustotal is not?  If you downloaded ScreenshotCaptor from another site, you might want to compare it with our official version.

Why would you use Software?  Why not blueprint it, or use general woodworking plans to do it?

um.. this is DonationCoder.com.. that's not the question we ask here, as you very well know.
the question we ask here is, given ANY activity, how can i maximize my use of software to assist with this activity.
