Hi hamradio, I have a few suggestions:

  • Make it so that a photo isn't required. If I want a pure and simple (perhaps ugly) box with the options, that should be my choice.
  • Let me grab icons from .exe files instead of only .ico. Not every app I want to launch/run has a separate .ico file. Most are built right into the .exe.
  • Make it easier to find some documentation. I know it's important for the license information to be reviewed, but combining the license and readme files was a bad idea, in my opinion.
  • Get an installer and make this some official DC software. Not to take away from your personal achievement of making this cool program, but it would be nice to see it run/install similarly to other great DC apps I find here. Then again, maybe you don't want people to have to deal with the DC Donationware license issues. Still, an installer would be nice so that start menu shortcuts can be made and so that the DCAppdater could automatically grab and install newer versions.

Congrats on this awesome application!

  • Maybe soon.
  • That has the potential to increase filesize which I am trying to keep small, so it means more room for your own data on the disc.  Might be worth doing a different version at some point to include it though.
  • Maybe soon also.
  • I don't think that is the best way to go in this case. As for one it is in my opinion the easiest when you go ahead and create your own files in the Compact AutoRunner directory or extract Compact AutoRunner to the directory you will be working with and then configure the autorun and then leave off the files that should not be placed on disc like the license and readme, the configuration builder, and any others that wasnt used or are not needed.

Thanks!

I'm still running FARR 2.00.133 (July). Until then, seems like the updater was keeping me updated quite nicely. Time flies and I just today realized that I have not seen any update for quite a while.

When I run the updater (1.17.01), it says, both about itself and about FARR:
Version on the web: n/a
Version date: blank
Progress bar: empty
Status: got version

My update  handling option is set to Download into Temp and run directly.

Anything you'd like me to check before downloading manually?

BTW, the Updater Network Log is not very helpful because it includes no dates or times, which is a sine qua non for a log.

Thanks!

Get and try the latest updater version and see if that fixes the updating.

Another hotkey you could also use that I just remembered is F2 = Previous Tab (from current) and F3 = Next Tab (from current). Works here. :)

General Software Discussion / Re: Any MWSnap users out there?
« Last post by hamradio on September 24, 2007, 11:55 AM »
I'm not certain what a previous respondant means by scrolling windows, but I do ocassionally have a need to capture the Windows start menu and MWSnap is not able to do so.  I have not found such a program that does, although frankly I haven't gone looking very hard.  I seldom make static tutorials these days since I discovered Wink.

By Scrolling Windows basically I mean windows that have a scrollbar like long webpages you can tell it to capture all of the webpage by scrolling and capturing therefore you would have all of the webpage or any other type of data as a screenshot.  :)

I used before but then I went to Screenshot Captor because for the simple fact the last version I used of MWSnap which I believe was the last version updated and it didnt have scrolling windows and I havent looked back at it.

Even the rickshaw wants to take you down. Catapults and guard towers are your only defense against the onslaught of soldiers. Can you make them make bird noises?

Dont know if this will do files or keep attributes as it looks like it is for folders, but it is suppose to keep modified/creation/accessed times from what it says not sure about attributes as I said. http://www.attributemagic.com/safecopy-free.html >> You could always test it and see.  :)

Ok updated to 0.5.0.6!

In 0.5.0.6 I added a file backup method that hopefully will work to allow you to at least restore a good version manually. If you could update and try it out and see how it works and let me know then it will be most useful. :)

Here is my final look at how I did it back on 08/20/2007 and only lost 3 lives.

Click the spoilers tags only if you want to see.

Click for a simple description of how I did it!
All I did was use monkeys and later on added in super monkeys by selling a few of my monkeys to help with the cost and then creating a super monkey.

Click for a resized screenshot of the final screen.

Updated to 0.5.0.5!

Another useful tip is that you could make with FARR2's new hotkey system is that you can automatically bring up KlipKeeper with a hotkey. (For Example: You could add to FARR2's hotkey system "Win + Space" and be ready to search for a klip or to copy a klip.) Enjoy! :)

Note: Click thumbnail to see fullsize screenshot of the example.

You can also hit I believe Ctrl + Tab to switch tabs with a thing like the Alt + Tab of windows if you still want a hotkey for tab switching.
