Why is it that when a new member joins only to berate the sign-up method/license key method, we have people who decide to pick on him? While I can understand the frustration, and I understand the opposing view, do we really need to have the same comments appear time after time, regardless of how the original poster comes across? Does MSE have good on-demand scanning? Like, can I right-click a folder/file and scan it real quick?

I tried MSE. They have that part where they say they will send your results back to microsoft. And you can't disable it at all. I'd even pay for it if I could get rid of it. Since we are just chatting, here's another thing...I just was in Excel and tried to copy/paste one cell to another. I received popup dialog saying "Cannot open clipboard: access is denied." It had Auspex...in the title bar of the window.
Messing around, I was able to do it. Just tried again; got the popup again. Does Auspex inhibit other program's use of the clipboard?-movrshakr (January 11, 2011, 03:12 PM)

Ah on erase trigger--makes sense and could be handy, as you show.
I notice that I have to exit and restart after entering a new mnemonic. That is no problem, and I guess it make sense, but, as a very low priority enhancement, you might want to add a SAVE button to avoid having to do that.-movrshakr (January 11, 2011, 01:46 PM)

I just came across this, and think it sounds absolutely wonderful. I am having a bit of difficulty seeing how to "make it start working."
For example, if I want it to ALWAYS replace "teh<space>" with "the<space>", exactly how do I do that?-movrshakr (January 11, 2011, 11:19 AM)
And how would I handle this: I want it to replace "form<space>" with "from<space>", but also allow me to change it back to "form<space>" in those cases where that IS the intended word. I type 'from' many times more than 'form' and often misspell it.

Now a question, for those who use software like NANY, or ?:
Years ago, probably on Windows 98, I used a utility which showed the number of files inside a directory.
When you used Windows Explorer, and your 'left column' showed the main entries, you clicked on one to open, and the right pane shows those file members, right? No problem.
But on the bottom line of display, again on the left pane above what is now the 'START' button, it showed the NUMBER of file entries in the displayed right pane.
It was handy when viewing large files, such as MP3 libraries and PICTURES, etc.
Sorry...it's hard for me to explain, but there used to be a utility that did this?
Anyone remember this one, or know of one?
I suspect it's one that would be in a 'file management' classification, but I've yet to find it...?

Lovely little app, I used it for half an hour and was looking forward to adding it to my "always on" utilities. However...I do a lot of my coding in VB6 (yeah, I know, but its what the punters want!) and, like all of the other clipboard managers, the VB IDE screws up when it's loading if Auspex is running. This is because VB and/or some VB add-ins seem to set up the icons on their toolbar buttons by copying them to and from the clipboard, and if there is a clipboard manager running, an error is generated and toolbars can go missing.
Is there any chance of making the clipboard function optional?
A few other things I noticed:
- I couldn't get the splash screen not to display (the setting doesn't have any effect)
- I couldn't get it to start with Windows, again irrespective of the relevant setting
- The auto-complete popup box always displayed as black text on a yellow background, again regardless of the settings
I really would like to use this utility, but the VB problem means I can't.
