I have a "Truecrypt Setup.exe" 7.1a on my XP. If that's not ok I believe Filehippo keeps some old versions. http://www.filehippo.../download_truecrypt/

How many used TC for whole disk encryption vs containers? In the case of the latter, which I guess had more users, Bitlocker is not even an alternative.

Occasionally, installed with others like Basket Note Pads. It's good but hasn't made me want to use it regularly.

Wait a second - yes I am slow - the warning also exists when you run the setup of the version on the sourceforge page? I just checked ghacks (http://www.ghacks.ne...yption-alternatives/) and saw

That's a different level of WTF as far as I am concerned

Excellent software.

However with $39 the on the roadmap features like encryption, image attachment and other bigger ones need to come faster in my opinion. Not bashing it at all just $39 is approaching price for 'note organizers' that do a lot more.

Malwarebytes PRO is not an antivirus program so that will not happen. It works well with antivirus software.

It may shock some to hear that I'm not opposed to the abstract *concept* of having super-heavy bandwidth services (like netflix) pay more.  But I completely agree that the likely end result of this is that small organizations get shafted and big corporations can once again buy their way to dominance.  And the ISPs get more and more powerful and rich and entrenched.

Detractors of the new proposal fear that ISPs will simply charge escalating fees for direct access and continue to stall upgrading their outdated communications infrastructure,  meaning slow lanes will end up even further behind the fast lanes

This is why I think that a compromise proposal should have been something like allowing ISPs to charge more for heavy high-speed bandwidth, but at the same time require that the SLOWEST speed for normal priced access was no slower than 50% of the high speed.  That way the high speed folks would be subsidizing the rest.

Having said that, and at the risk of injecting politics, my personal preference would be to wipe the for profit internet service provider corporations off the face of the earth (along with the for-profit health care and health insurance corporations, but thats a topic for the basement) and nationalize the internet.

I am in therapy (not really but close enough) to not talk politics online. This is mostly failing when it comes to twitter for example. Having said all that ... nationalize the internet?? And people call me a commie  :P

^ I did mention 'physical product' in my first post in this thread, whether or not physical product is the exception or the rule for kickstarter is not really relevant.
As far as supply chain goes I, personally, do want every point from manufacturer to the end platform provider/seller/etc to be somewhat responsible for the physical product delivered to me. I would expect that from third part sellers on Amazon, ebay ... the same way I would expect it from brick and mortar places. Example: The car dealer has nothing to do with creating the car (car dealerships are not owned by the car manufacturer anywhere I have lived...) but I am not taking back my car to Toyota HQ but to the dealer.
663
On the issue of delivering a physical product we should be very careful if we are willing to let kickstarter (or anybody else) off the hook. Dangerous path here.
But kickstarter isn't delivering a physical product.  The campaign organizer is.  And should be held to some sort of accountability.  Especially if he just disappeared.

Ceding accountability anywhere in the supply chain is a slippery slope that will be exploited, if not by kickstarter then by another.

How is kickstarter part of the supply chain?

How do you not consider it? By that logic you can never complain to ebay

Sorry for misunderstanding, however StandaloneStack does take a user specified folder and shows its content in a 'grid' on the desktop

The alternative still needs a lot of work. It may be that all of the issues are fixable by googling but a user turning a computer on shouldn't need to google basic features and/or requirements ... yep I am going off topic  :-[

Microsoft has also stopped providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP. If you already have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, you will continue to receive antimalware signature updates for a limited time

http://windows.micro...ows/end-support-help

The 'limited time' is apparently 15 months
