It doesn't.  You can turn off the adding of newly launched items to history from options, and you can right click on an item from search results to remove it from history.

I just got a report that someone was experiencing this.. If anyone gets this error on current builds, can you tell me about your setup and OS?
And can you try changing the options on the "Tweaks" tab for where to store the temporary database file?

raingros,

Could you help me understand something -- FARR works by checking filenames and shortcut names.. so as long as the entries in your start menu say "Rechner", they should be found by farr..

Is it that even in your start menu the calculator is called "Calculator" and not "Rechner" or is it that the calculator app is not on the start menu at all? or?

ps. Didn't mean to derail the topic -- i do think it's useful to talk about political-related apps, especially those dealing with political free speech.

Because people will inevitably want to undo actions, and see what's been changed, a nice feature would be to add a button to open the hosts file in notepad, so user can see and remove entries, etc.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Latest FARR Release 2.220.01 BETA - April 12, 2015
« Last post by mouser on April 12, 2015, 12:38 PM »
Minor update:
  • [Change] If only one result is being shown in directory browsing mode, FARR won't autoswitch into small report display mode; this is nicer to look at when using an absolute path to a file and makes clearer when there is a unique result in directory browsing mode, and makes it more convenient to use the Quick Search Words to specify an explicit file path.

Version 2.220.01 - Apr 12, 2015 BETA
  • [Feature] A new "Quick Search Words" tab in options allows you to specify quick search word replacements; here you can quickly specify words that have alternate meanings when typed into the search box.  Start each line with a search word, followed by = and then the replacement text.  For example, if you would like to be able to type "ff" to search for "firefox" you can specify that here as "ff = firefox".  This just makes it much easier to do certain simple things without using aliases.  Note that replacements will only be made on word boundaries ("ff" will not match "eff").
  • [Bugfix] Non-contiguous scoring had a bug which might allow some results to list which should not (though it would give them a very low score).
  • [Feature] New option to require search words to match on left hand boundaries of words (whether contiguous enabled or not) -- can be useful in reducing spurious matches.
  • [Bugfix] Using spacebar to toggle checkboxes in the hotkey, searchfolder, pattern lists was not saving changes.
  • [Bugfix] Launched *folders* were no longer opening on Windows XP.

The $$u1 is useful when you are opening urls, because it does the necessary replacement urlencoding so that urls are properly encoded when they have symbols like + or & in them.
I'm going to modify the tips on that form to give a hint about this -- it's very tricky i'll admit.

Ok, so I can help :)

Someone made a wolfram alpha alias here:

Now if you look at it, you'll see what's different between that one and yours:

USAF Honor Guard - Rubber Chicken Bearing Test

"To be a Ceremonial Guardsman in the United States Air Force you have to maintain bearing at all times, even if you have a rubber chicken in front of your face. The instructors at the USAF Honor Guard Tech School constantly challenge the newcoming Airmen's bearing, and the students pay the penalty if they cannot maintain it."

Try the new beta, and check out the "Quick Search Words" tab.

Download beta version (2.220.1) from here (portable zip).

[Feature] A new "Quick Search Words" tab in options allows you to specify quick search word replacements; here you can quickly specify words that have alternate meanings when typed into the search box.  Start each line with a search word, followed by = and then the replacement text.  For example, if you would like to be able to type "ff" to search for "firefox" you can specify that here as "ff = firefox".  This just makes it much easier to do certain simple things without using aliases.

Ok here's a post I didn't want to have to make, because I already have a good expensive blender that i bought used and repaired.
However, it needs to be done.  This $40 blender and mini-chopper combo actually is quite the bargain, isn't too loud, outperforms most blenders (it does pretty incredibly on ice), does a bunch of things, is super easy to clean up, and stores wonderfully.

Screenshot - 4_10_2015 , 1_43_32 PM.png

$40 on amazon: http://www.amazon.co...r-Prep/dp/B003XU3C7M

There are a million Youtube reviews of it:

It excels with ice and quick things like smoothies.

It has only a couple of drawbacks that I can see:
  • You have to hold button down while it blends, you can't just turn it on and leave room; its so fast that this doesn't seem to be much of an issue.
  • It doesn't really create a vortex, so it might be an issue for making very large mixtures; it has multiple blades up the spine though, so it tends to blend everything quickly.

Since I am a nut about saving space in the kitchen, one thing I love is that i can leave the little base plugged in and out of the way on a little shelf, and just bring over the jar when i want to blend something.

Screenshot Captor / Re: SUGGESTION: Maximum Screen Size
« Last post by mouser on April 10, 2015, 10:28 AM »
(1) I maximised the standalone window but can't figure out how to re-size it! As it is set to be always on top, I can't see the other programs that are on the same monitor

Hit escape in the maximized mode to make it a resizable window.
I will add F11 shortcut to toggle maximization.
Yeah there is a delay in toggling the window, which seems to have to do with the thumbnail panels being forced to refresh -- i will try to fix that.
