Kid game?? That means i'm stupid? :( some levels further on became a bit too dificult for me :S
don't worry, there are web-sites which have posted screen-shots with the sequence completed for each & every level. ;)
I found this when I was searching to see if there was an english version of the game but as not to spoil the fun or to tempt me I didn't keep the link...

At this moment, 20240 members, 19224 posts.  Does anyone but me find it sad that total number of members has consistently been running at about 1,000 higher than the total number of posts?

hmm... this makes me wonder, how many members have actually posted out of the 20k-plus? is there a way to find out?

Finished Programs / Re: DONE: Eject!
« Last post by lanux128 on March 20, 2006, 07:09 PM »
actually, i use command-line tool called Eject to open/close a CD-ROM drive... this is mainly for batch files & automated scripts but once in a while when i'm going thru several CDs, it will be nice to have an icon in the system-tray that opens/closes in a button-click.

no offense, brotherS but tools like AbsoluteControl add too much feature for their own good that it ends up as an overkill...

well, that's another launcher to the dumps... by run-box, i assume that you mean windows' run-box...
anyway since i started using f+rr, all others look a distant second and i'm not the one for eye-candy gui launchers. now if only f+rr has a feature for folder browsing...  ;)

yes, apparently they want to be in internet what Microsoft already is consumer/corporate PC market... To quote Ampa, "Difficult to know whether that is a good thing or not..."

Google acquires Writely, a full-functioned, Ajax-based word processor that allows you to do most anything in your browser that you would be able to do with a machine-based program, short of a full-fledged office application. Full report here.

As Google adds yet another app to its arsenal of suites, will we be seeing a new trend here?

I just took the (slightly outdated) "What OS are you" quiz on BBSpot and (this is too creepy) guess what?...

haha.. this is quite interesting...  i came up with:

I was interested to see both AllChars and AHK.  I'd have thought that AHK would have removed the need for AllChars?

What's KatMouse?

i'm still learning to *harness* the powers of AHK... ;-) so I'm keeping AllChars as a backup...

Katmouse is a mouse-wheel enhancer. its key feature is:
moving the mouse wheel will scroll the window directly beneath the mouse cursor (not the one with the keyboard focus, which is default on Windows OSes).

Oh yeah, and of course I'm running the famous Miranda (https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=1201.0) 24/7 to enjoy some nice discussions in DonationCoder's IRC channel etc.

brotherS:
how do you login invisibly (if that's the correct term) with miranda? i can do it with yahoo/msn messenger but couldn't find a way in miranda... ;-)

I'm pretty happy with XP, and not in any big hurry to change.
-mrainey

me neither, unless there's some new embedded technologies that requires Vista to work. something like the USB drive/digital camera plug-and-play that came built-in with XP and made life difficult for Win9x users...

There is an option that lets you control what MS will alert you about:
Control Panel -> Security Center -> Resources (left side) -> Change the way Security Center Alerts me

previously, i didn't know how to turn it off. now it works, tks Veign...

Unfinished Requests / Re: IDEA: Duplicate files in a single click
« Last post by lanux128 on March 14, 2006, 09:07 PM »
sorry to revive an old thread...

Update: Create .bak by Serenity does the trick... and has no side-effects on WinXP
"Create .bak" makes a copy of the selected file and gives it an additional .bak extension like:
file.exe --> file.exe.bak

If a folder was selected, this makes a copy of the folder including all of its contents:
/folder/file.txt --> /folder.bak/file.txt

Create .bak will automatically overwrite files of the same name unless /safe is specified in the command line,
eg: "C:\Program Files\Create .bak\createbak.exe" "/safe" "%1"

lanux

« Last post by lanux128 on March 14, 2006, 08:50 PM »
I thought my pc was a bit sluggish today, so i decided to clear out some of the apps running in the background & start a topic on this... What are the indispensible tools you have running in the system-tray all the time?

let's see, I have (from left to right):
Gmail notifier, FreeDownload Manager, USB Drive thingy, AVG, AllChars, F&RR, WinWarden, AHK, CLCL (clipboard manager), Windows Security Alert (i'd like to get rid of this, but can't...), KatMouse, RtvReco, HP Printer Software and finally Tclock2.

ok, that's all. I hope to find some other useful systray tools from fellow donationcoders... ;-)
