I haven't played with it in years, but the last time I used it, I was very impressed with Yii.

Don't forget hand-cleaner.

Thanks for the reminder.

May I suggest Harbor Freight Tools.. You may have a store near you.

There is one quite near me -- I bought my floor jack there (consensus seems to be that their floor jacks are good).

I presume you have an alternate form of transportation?

Yep, i'll have someone with me to help in case of problems.

always pull a wrench, never push it

yep, i have heard that -- i will try to remember it; i have a good breaker bar.

Hi jiexi,

I'm not sure exactly how to solve your issue, but i suppose as a first step let me tell you that the config file, on win vista and later will be a file called DesktopCoral.ini in your documents\DonationCoder\DesktopCoral directory.

Well, it's official -- we have just broken our past fundraising record. This is absolutely wonderful.

Even more impressive than the amount raised is the fact that it's been raised from over 800 individual donors.

And if you can't get something wrong in that lot you ought to be doing your own maintenance

i estimate the likelyhood of me breaking something during each procedure at 5%.
unfortunately that puts me at about a 45% likelyhood of needing to have my car towed to a mechanic before i'm through.

Too late to turn back now, i have purchased an obscene amount of tools and materials and will soon be jacking up the car and:
  • Changing oil
  • Changing the brake pads and rotors
  • Flushing tranmsission fluid
  • Flushing coolant
  • Flushing Transfer case and rear differential fluid
  • Flushing brake fluid
  • Flushing power steering fluid
  • Replacing spark plugs
  • Rotating tires

I've watched dozens of youtube videos, read a half dozen books, I'm ready to bond with my car through the experience of learning how to care for it :)

Win 8.1 pro on laptop with high dpi screen:
- no icons

ok i need some assistance -- i just installed farr on a win8 virtual machine and i see icons.
what settings do you have that you think might be responsible for icons not showing?  can you give me any more info -- does it show no icons in any scenario, whether the icons are from typing "cpanel" alias or from browsing directories?
can you check that you have icons in windows explorer?
6135
quite possible -- let me look into the function and see if i can add options for it.
but what apps are you using that are messing up the clipboard chain so frequently?

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR and Indexing Option - Feedback Requested
« Last post by mouser on April 22, 2015, 01:18 PM »
Well "actively" might be stretching it.. however i've recently been updating farr -- new update coming in next few days -- and while i haven't implemented indexing yet, i've been thinking about it a little more and i'm still committed to adding it -- as an option (many people like farr specifically because it does live search and doesn't mess with indexing).  Hopefully sometime towards the end of this year.
6137
no, you can skip this update.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: Error EX4: DBISAM Engine Error #11013
« Last post by mouser on April 22, 2015, 12:36 PM »
Ok so I got a follow up email from the other person experiencing this bug -- he tracked it down to the fact that CHS was saving its data to user's document directory, which was on a NETWORK drive.
Solution was to modify the ConfigDir.ini file in the ClipboardHelpAndSpell directory to point to a local drive (in his case CONFIGDIR=%APPDATA%).
6139
by the way, I assume you've already tried this:

Living Room / Re: Inquirers questionable business IT Tech nomination survey
« Last post by mouser on April 22, 2015, 11:51 AM »
I've changed the topic to something that doesn't make people here who read it think it's something they will be interested in participating in.. I think with our limited mental attention spans, i think it's important not to send people off to surveys that sound like they should take them when they aren't for them.

I visited the page -- calling this "Tech Hero Awards" seems really odd to me.. these are very specialized group of nominees for an exceedingly narrow specialty area of "tech"..

Here's the page (click to expand):

to something that doesn't make people here who read it think it's something they will be interested in participating in..
6142
I can do that.
6143
Outrageous and unacceptable.

Now I can see that there will be safety concerns as modifiable software takes over more and more of the operation of cars. You can imagine a scenario in the not too distance future where someone downloads an "unofficial" patch for their latest auto-parking car, and it turns out a virus causes the car to speed up to 100mph randomly or causes brakes to fail.. After all, if it's possible to do something, someone somewhere is going to try to do it.. So i'm not saying that some concerns aren't warranted.   But this idea of blocking people from being able to hack their own stuff has to stop.
6144
Can you elaborate on what you want to do with the result? Do you actually want to make it like a puzzle? What's the motivation for this?
6145
Sorry about that -- try now.

Ehtyar!!!! :greenclp:  :-*

What an awesome read.  As much as I shy away from most human contact in real life, I'm just loving hearing updates about people's lives here in this thread.  As I said before -- no need to apologize or feel guilty for moving on to other interests.. It's just great to hear from you!
(I'm afraid I left my PhD program, which remains a tender issue for me, but that's for another day).  Thank you -- and everyone else -- for sharing part of yourself here.  It's been such a pleasure to be able to share a small slice of life with you all.

Skrommel's Software / Re: MoveOut: License? I want to extend it
« Last post by mouser on April 22, 2015, 08:53 AM »
Hopefully skrommel, the author will respond and, ideally, post a little statement about his apps in general.
Could you perhaps draft a short minimal suggested "license" for him, that he could adopt?

Having said that -- skrommel has never expressed anything but approval for people taking his source code and modifying it, and if your intention is to make an open source fork, I cannot fathom a scenario where skrommel would object to that for the MoveOut tool.
