I finally got around to watching the video. Very, very interesting. I've noticed a lot of foods getting rid of High Fructose Corn Syrups, but they still have fructose and corn syrups, which I guess are still bad for you.

i would have you remember the old commodore keyboards...

You're assuming I was alive and owned a commodore back in those days.

Yep, I think you're right (in your spoiler).

Previously I had thought it was dust/smoke flying into the air due to some impact or explosion.

I am so getting that... one of these days. :)

I have an illuminated keyboard that I bought several years ago (for the same price), and that Logitech one seems to address all the complaints I have about mine:

1) Mine is a bit compact like a laptop keyboard, but with a numpad, resulting in some odd placements for some keys (e.g. for some reason the key that makes these symbols "|" and "\" is by the LEFT alt button as well as in its usual place above the enter/return key. There is also no gaps between the number keys and the F# keys, making it hard to press the correct function keys by touch, which results in a lot of "fat fingering" the function keys when trying to press a number, bringing up help menus and other unwanted side effects). The Logitech is a full size keyboard, so everything is where it belongs.
2) The letters are starting to wear off some of the keys. The Logitech letters are laser etched, which I believe means they won't be rubbing off or wearing out.
3) I find I still don't like typing in the dark with mine because the light from my monitor is so bright in my eyes that I still can't see very well the keys on the keyboard, so I usually have a light on in the room. The Logitech lights up only the letters' silhouette and appears brighter, making it easier to identify letters in the dark.

There's a video in the image gallery where he presses the buttons. It seems to be fairly standard keyboard, but I'm not sure what you mean by "clicky." I think it might be quiet, but it seems like you would definitely be able to feel the button depress. But that's also how laptop keyboards are (you can feel them press down and come back up, but they're kind of quiet), so I'm not sure if it meets your "clicky" requirement.

What would be cool is if I got that and the mouse, both coming with a unifying USB receiver, then I could put the USB receivers into two computers and control both of them with the same keyboard and mouse without having to disconnect anything. I might have to get creative and use Skrommel's Toddler Trap on the PC I don't want to be controlling at the moment, but I still think that would be cool.

There were 24 entries in the October challenge, some of which have already had their first sale.

In fact, I purchased one of the games (Lottie's Dungeon AKA Sophie's Witch Game) a couple weeks ago and I didn't know it was in the challenge until today.

I hope they also fine vendors for selling R-rated movies and music albums with "Explicit Content" warnings to minors as well, for consistency's sake.

The worst things in (most) commercial video games would probably get a PG-13 rating in cinema, yet time after time legislators try to ban/restrict/censor games while leaving other industries alone. >:(

And now, back to the topic of version number whoring, chrome is now at v9 beta.

What happened to version 8? Chrome says it's up to date and it's "only" on version 7.x.

I currently use T-Mobile and the cell service is fine. It doesn't have coverage in some of the "out in the boonies" places I visit, but here in the "city" it's fine.

I think the irony Renegade referred to is that T-Mobile is using the Mac vs PC theme to show T-Mobile as better than the iPhone.

* requires a proprietary USB dongle, you cannot use your bluetooth connection, so this kind of kills on the purposes of a wireless mouse which is to free-up a USB port.

I thought the purpose of a wireless mouse was to get rid of the wires. But I read somewhere that they're making a bluetooth version of this mouse. I'm not sure if that's true or not, though.

How about this one?

In Ubuntu if I try to watch YouTube videos, YouTube tells me I need to update to the latest Flash player, but clicking the link to Adobe's website I am informed that Chromium comes with the latest version of Flash installed. Huh?

How do you get to the Nether? By "digging too deep"? Also, I thought torches were going to burn out, but, so far, the torches I placed before the update don't?

Torches being burned out didn't make it into the update.

You have to build a portal to the Nether. Basically you need to create a 4x5 "doorway" with Obsidian (but you can leave the outer corners off) and then use flint & steel iron to start it on fire.

The blue text is supposed to be pointing at "Scare other players online!" rather than "carve pumpkins."

If it helps, the NAS units I keep seeing as the best bang for the buck seems to keep going to the Drobo by Data Robotics.

I didn't know the Drobo was considered NAS. I thought it was essentially just an external RAID.

I've been using SpiderOak to synchronize game save files between computers, and recently had the brilliant idea of using it to sync my Minecraft saves. Unfortunately SpiderOak uses up way too much CPU and slows my system (and Minecraft) to a crawl because it syncs while in the game.

Well, obviously I can't use bvckup to sync between computers, but I did just test it out backing up Minecraft saves/worlds and am happy to report that it didn't cause the game to run sluggish, and it didn't seem to affect my system speed at all.

Yesterday I started playing Minecraft again and I generated a new world and Bvckup started slowing my system down much worse than SpiderOak ever did. So I guess I'm not using Bvckup to backup Minecraft data anymore.

Dragon's Den is an 'entrepreneur pitches idea to smug investors' type show.

Cassetteboy is a mashup artist ..

How is it possible that I spent 4.5 minutes watching that video and I still have no idea what happened in it?
