If you have to install it using origin, then that's not really another platform?

Several companies do the same thing with Steam- you buy at GamersGate, GreenManGaming, etc, and activate on steam.  Direct2Drive used to do it- not sure if they will now since they've been bought by GameFly.  I'm pretty sure it won't be available on Impulse either.  Those are the platforms- GameFly, Steam, Origin, and Impulse.  The rest are really just storefronts.

(Though I see it's on Impulse... I wonder how *that's* going to work, especially as it still says Impulse is required in the requirements)

yeah, i read the "platform" as vendors or methods of digital distribution. i think of Origin as more of a DRM à la Steam but there has been precedence of double DRMs such as Steam and Uplay (Ubisoft) or any other games with GfWL.

in any case, Steam is the only DRM i can/will tolerate..

With EA having their own distribution platform now, I wouldn't count on ever seeing their stuff on another platform. /shrug

they cut out only Steam. ME3 can be obtained from other vendors but requires the buyers to install Origin in order to activate ME3. the Origin client is needed for both, single and multiplayer part of the game.

after some discussion with hamradio, we noticed that the missing snipping tool is related to a windows component called "tablet pc component". it is worth a try to see if that is consistent with all the other PCs plagued with this problem.

as advised in the thread above, i checked and found that the tablet pc component is turned off on my pc. however when i tried to turn it on, explorer crashed so i'm leaving it off.. so is anyone else willing to try?

i don't use CHS but i believe that it has a Portable mode as most mouser's software come with a portable setting which can be activated via editing the ini. look for a file called "ConfigDir.ini" and change the following line "// PORTABLE=TRUE " to "  PORTABLE=TRUE ".

Changing the domain name to the Swedish domain .se puts the address out of the reach of US authorities. Along with the name change the defiant Pirate Bay operators changed the logo from the traditional ship to a closed fist (above) and issued a statement via their official blog:

RIFT Lite lets you play for free up to level 20, with no charge or time limit. this looks like more of an extended trial as WoW did recently. i doubt much can be done at level 20, though.
