fwiw, that the founder/main developer of Reaper was the founder/original developer of WinAmp (and Gnutella). v1 of Reaper was in 2006, and it's now on v6.

I kept waiting for the Mythbusters to show up. I thought it was just some interns introducing the "myth" to the audience and that the real Mythbusters would come out and set off the explosion and explain what happened and why. Then I got through the whole thing and they never showed up and I was really confused.

Then I realized it has been a long time since I've seen Mythbusters and they must have replaced the cast.

Additionally, it doesn't seem to support many free/open formats (OGG, FLAC) out of the box. But it does support the proprietary MP3 format. Strange.

I discovered yesterday that the last patent(s) for MP3 expired in 2017. So I suppose that may explain why MP3 is now supported out of the box.

Deo, it needs bass.dll for more format support.  Download this: https://www.un4seen..../download.php?bass24 and put bass.dll in the same folder as 1by1.exe.  Restart 1by1 and you should have much better luck.

I'd have to say I agree with the reviewers. Why make a big deal about redirecting the GPIO to enable access and then screw it up by making it non-standard? I'm also really confused about why a big company like Cooler Master would need a Kickstarter to fundraise a project like this.

That said, I also agree with you. I've never used the GPIO on any of my little RPi-like devices, so I wouldn't personally be bothered by the issue. It looks like a nice case other than that one (potentially dealbreaking) design flaw. If I were buying another RPi4 today, I might consider getting that case to go with it.

I got the above heatsink case to go with my Pi. I'm normally very utilitarian and don't care too much about how things look and just go for black, but I really like the colorful options this case comes in.

My only complaint about it is that it doesn't quite fully encase the board. Which, in practice, means that the microSD card is poking out a few millimeters, exposed to damage from bumps or drops. On the other hand, this also makes it a bit easier to get in and out. But on the other other hand, my device isn't really going anywhere (so I'm unlikely to bump or drop it) and I'm not doing anything with it that requires frequent removal/reinsertion of the microSD card.

Also, even though I don't power it on and off very often now that it's all set up and doing what I got it to do, I've found it indispensable to have some kind of power switch for the Pi for those times when you are setting it up and having to frequently turn it off and on again. I've always gone with a switch on the power cable rather than a switch on the case. Something like this:

Reaper has a Media Explorer. It's enough for most users, though some don't like way it looks/works.

The standalone version of Daminion (Digital Asset Manager), is still free, (AFAIK), with the restriction of 15000 items per catalogue, (you can have multiple catalogues).

But I've got a deadline to meet so I don't feel I have time to really look into these relatively complex potential solutions at the moment. But it's on my to-do list after the next few days. Thanks!

This one looked small and simple enough that I gave it a try.

It appears to just be an audio player from the website. And it does not work for my needs.

It doesn't appear to list .wav files, which a large portion of my audio collection is comprised of. Additionally, it doesn't seem to support many free/open formats (OGG, FLAC) out of the box. Despite this, I did have some .mp3 files in my library that I attempted to test out, but the app just crashed every time I tried to play a file.

Hi all,

I've gathered a bit of a sound library which has grown so large over the years that it makes it hard to know what I have, and where. I'd like some software that can help me quickly browse and preview the sound files. Bonus points if it can help me organize (and tag?) the files as well.

When I say "sound library" I don't mean music for personal enjoyment. I mean sound effects, jingles, voice tracks, or audio tracks for video games (or just videos, I suppose).

Surely people who do video editing for a living have some software that helps manage sound libraries. Any suggestions out there for what I can use?

Compatibility with Windows is needed. Preferably free/open source, but I'm open to affordable paid options if you have experience with them and feel they're worth it. This is mostly for hobby stuff, so expensive professional software is probably not feasible for my use case.

One of the possible symptoms of the coronavirus is a loss of smell (and consequently, taste). So if she can't smell it, he's got other things to worry about.

This is a guess from my part, but I've had good luck getting goo off of things with Goo Gone. Though, I'm not sure whether or not that will eat through your carpet. So be sure to read the label.

I contacted Windscribe support about my account. It turns out that unsubscribing from their promotional emails will downgrade your account to the 2 GB plan. It has been long enough since I last used Windscribe that I can't remember if I knew that would happen when I made the decision to unsubscribe. It's plausible that at that point in time I thought I'd never use the service again and therefore I was okay with the idea of my account going back to the 2 GB plan.

They said they reverted the change to my account, so now it shows that I'm back on the 60 GB plan. But I'm not sure if that means I've been subscribed to their promotional emails again or not.

With that additional information and context, I hereby revoke my proclamation about Windscribe's suckiness.

I haven't used Windscribe in a while, but I just logged into my account and saw that somehow my 60 GB/mo plan is now a 2 GB/mo plan.

It tells me I can get a 10 GB plan by verifying my email address, but (1) I'm pretty sure I did that a long time ago, and (2) there's nothing I can find in my account to allow me to do that.

For these reasons I must say that Windscribe sucks.

A new spammer account just tried to post about a fake version of this, which was probably filled with malware, so I figured I'd go on record with the real version, which I just learned about this past week:

YouTube Vanced is the stock Android YouTube app, but better! Includes adblocking, true amoled dark mode and a lot more.

• Features the option of an amoled black theme to reduce eye and battery strain.
• Blocks All videos ads and allows you to play videos in the background or in Picture in Picture (only on android 8.0 and up)
• Swipe controls allow you to control brightness and volume like how it is in other video player apps such as VLC or MX Player (with configurable padding).
• New auto repeat feature allowing you to enjoy videos like tiktoks/vines or simply continue playing a song on loop.
• Not liking the new comments section or miniplayer? Those also can be toggled to the tablet versions which are very similar to the old version (albeit slightly buggy).

If you're wondering about the name, it's "YouTube AdVanced" i.e., without the ads.

It includes even more features, such as options to skip sponsored segments (where the YouTuber talks about some sponsor), skip self-promotional segments (where the YouTuber tells you to like, subscribe, become a patron, etc.), or even skip intro/outro segments.

The problem is that the official version doesn't appear to be on the Play Store, but there are a slew of copycats available that most likely contain spy/adware if not outright malware. So get it here:
