General Software Discussion / ActualDoc recent documents manager
« Last post by lanux128 on December 07, 2006, 09:41 PM »
ActualDoc recent documents manager is a unique tool that allows you to manage your recently used documents and files. The standard Windows Recent Documents feature only shows a list of the last X files accessed, while this program allows you to keep long-term track of them and it automatically categorizes them by file type, date and other aspects.

Comes in two flavours: Standard (Free) and Professional (US19.95)..

this is interesting.. i had just opted for Windows Firewall about 2 mths ago & here it is ranked rock-bottom..

i'm not keen on looking for another firewall but all these talks of Comodo has been tempting. i hope it's not a case of "new broom sweeps well"..

yeah, ContextMenu Commander is still in idea phase, it seems..

but for your needs, try Hace Software's Mmm...

    * Mmm FREE is completely FREE!
    * Lets you modify almost all explorer context-menus!
    * Works when right-clicking any file/object!
    * Lets you hide items you don't use!
    * Lets you move rarely used items out on a sub-menu!
    * Works on the desktop!
    * Works in the start-menu!
    * Works on the folder background!
    * Very easy to configure - just drag & drop
    * No nag-screens that interrupt you!
    * No Adware!
    * No Spyware!
    * No support!
    * ;) Did I mention it is FREE ?

Screenshot Captor / Re: SC crashes on right-click
« Last post by lanux128 on December 06, 2006, 01:00 AM »
it has a unique feature: Append filepath to Clipboard. which means you can copy different filepaths one by one and it will all snowball into the same clipboard item..

in any case, i'm still using it. i just refrain from right-clicking in SC's thumbnail pane..

« Last post by lanux128 on December 05, 2006, 10:16 PM »
i forgot to mention this earlier..

i had a suspicion that the crashes were due to other software that hook onto explorer's context-menu and thus conflicts with SC's thumbnail pane. so to confirm this, i uninstalled all 3rd party shell extensions & tried them one at a time.. in the end, it was a "CopyPath" shell extension causing the problem, because after that there are no more right-click crashes.. :)

Note: SC version 2.28.01

corel is not doing a good job on promoting their software.. nobody is going to install something that hasn't got a proper website, when there are so many alternatives just around the corner.. ;)

Would it be possible to add multiple folder support to the program ?
this is already supported, see my post above (Fig.1)..

5647
However, the real issue is the type of license that it offers, that you must install within a certain time window. Which means if you have a computer crash and or just a system or OS upgrade, you basically lose the ability to use the program unless of course you are now hooked on it and go buy a new license, unless you have a utility to move the software over legally.

yes, this giveaway thingy seems like a new category of software license - like 'one night only' gigs.. this is a good choice for trivial and/or new programs, that normally we wouldn't care to install. and looking back, they did give away some cool programs but i don't think i will take up the offer for data-related programs..

btw, an earlier post about this website: https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=6170.0
