a nice change might be to go to first unread even when you click on the main title of the thread - there aren't many cases where that's not what you want.
yeah, i agree.. the current setup is as good as it is.. very discreet.. :)

how about a "View first unread" link in the forums? this feature can be useful when one is coming back to a long post or an old thread that has been revived..

skrommel, good script but as stated earlier.. i'd like to set the output (shortcuts) to be created in the current folder, i.e. the folder that the text file resides or at least, be able to configure the output folder.

General Software Discussion / Batchrun 4.1
« Last post by lanux128 on December 12, 2006, 01:19 AM »
in relation to questions posed in this thread: Is it possible to start a program when you first start LanchBar Commander?.

i'd like to introduce Batchrun 4.1

Batchrun will let you create batch files using a graphical interface. In the good old days of DOS .bat files took care of this task. They still do, but they're not exactly user friendly. With Batchrun .brs batch files you can launch any number of programs or dialup connections with just a simple click. You can control the starting process with many properties like priority or run mode and control their behavior a tad. You can even do more than starting programs with the built-in file management functions like Copy, Rename, Makedir, Delete and End Process. Batchrun batch files can be launched from Explorer or placed in StartUp folder or on the Desktop.

General Software Discussion / Align Icons 2.0
« Last post by lanux128 on December 12, 2006, 01:05 AM »
while trying answer cranioscopical's queries, i stumbled into this program - Align Icons by Softwarium. it looks like a decent desktop icon tool.

Align Icons is a Windows Context Menu addition that allows you to align icons in any way you want. This utility can be very useful for the purpose of disk mastering and for all those who love to keep order in their folders. To align icons in a folder, simply select icons you want to align. Put the mouse pointer on any icon in a group you have selected, right-click the mouse button and point to the "Align Icons by" context menu item. The Context sub-menu appears. Using the sub-menu you can choose the following types of the icons alignment: Left, Right, Top, Bottom. All selected icons will be aligned accordingly as soon as you choose a type of the icons alignment.

yes agreed, i myself test-drive new programs several times before deciding to keep them and sometimes do revert back to an older version..

and by posting here, you have taken the 1st step. just hang on until this thread appears on mouser's radar.. 8)

Do you keep a link available to older versions?  I want to recommend this tool to friends, but I'm less inclined to recommend 1.13.01 than I am the 1.09.05 that I know is faster.
this is definitely mouser's call but imo, this will cause confusion as users will be posting bug reports and feature requests based on an older versions..

so keyboardy, why don't help out mouser by giving him more input to work on the improvement of the current release of Farr, escpecially in the two experimental areas..

« Last post by lanux128 on December 10, 2006, 10:36 PM »
I don't think i could give up alfaclock for anything
the same for me jgpaiva, i've been using TClock and its various clones since Win9x.. but these programs come with a slew of features and i can't really recommend them to an average user..

that's why i've been looking a slim & lightweight clock tool that has a built-in calendar (something that should be in the OS itself).. :)

BeamFile is slightly different in a sense that it's not web-based, you need to install the program at both ends before you can send/receive files..

P.S. it sounds more like Pando..

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Yahoo photos download program
« Last post by lanux128 on December 10, 2006, 08:03 PM »
i use Yahoo Photos to store images that i actually want to share, and therefore i'd prefer the persons that i'm sharing with take the time to look at them.. :)

of course, Yahoo should have given some concern to users with limited bandwidth but if enough people wanted it, maybe Yahoo would provide a solution..
