Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR v2.00.01 ALPHA PREVIEW Release
« Last post by lanux128 on December 20, 2006, 09:52 PM »
• Added ability to go into and pop up out of directories while in the results panel using arrow keys LEFT and RIGHT.
i like this new shortcuts, but they don't synch with Alt+# & Alt+Backspace keys.. if i use Alt+# to pop into a sub-folder which contains only files then i can't use right/left key to pop-out. is this by design?

on a general note, this is so cool that i don't need to create complicated hot-paths for my system..
mouser, you're on the right track..

General Software Discussion / Re: Not free, but free, X-Setup
« Last post by lanux128 on December 20, 2006, 09:31 PM »
Xteq X-setup has been around for some time. had used it's freeware version and also submitted/suggested some of the tweaks..

btw, the reason your settings were not removed is due to the fact that it writes straight to the registry, therefore even when you uninstall the program your settings will not revert to default unless you had chosen the log option & later manually undo the process. i think this is stated during the installation or applying the tweaks, i can't remember..

anyway, good program though..

ok, progress report.. :)
double-clicking on the box for output path works fine, regardless of the spaces within the path.

however from the text file, the output path containing spaces doesn't work. here are a few formats i tried:
• ABC.exe,C:\A AA\BBB - creates BBB.lnk in A AA folder instead of ABC.exe in BBB
• ABC.exe,C:\A AA\BBB, - doesn't work
• ABC.exe,"C:\A AA\BBB" - doesn't work

btw, an option to ignore entries starting with a semi-colons for commenting purposes would be nice plus the implementation of <shortcut name> as part of the syntax..

:) No, it's <source file>,<target folder>
But <shortcut name> could be added, too.
btw, is <target folder> compulsory? because the new script doesn't seem to work..

Try the script above now. I've added "s in the shortcut creation.
i think the quotation marks here somehow broke the script..

..
    FileCreateShortCut,"%part_1%","%dir%\%name%.lnk"
  }
  Else
  If part_0=2
    FileCreateShortCut,"%part_1%","%part_2%.lnk"
..

only after removing the quotes, did the script work..

Also ClocX:

ClocX is quite nice but it doesn't seem to have a systray mode, where it will replace Windows default clock..

thanks for the update, all the suggestions have been included & it works wonderfully..

however there's a small glitch, the output path thing doesn't work if there is a space in the path. i also tried enclosing it in quotes but no change, ditto for the shortcut name.. i'm also a bit hazy about the syntax, esp. the shortcut name, is it like the code below? :)

<exe path>,<output path>,<link name>

after a quick run-down, i find that LClock isn't in active development, the last update was in September 2004. also, it can't display date/time, only time as tomos had said earlier..

looks like i'm going to have to stick with TClock, despite the fact, that both aren't actively updated anymore..

Now I think I've got it. I always use the program Quick ShutDown to close my PC. The shutdown really will be quick - but maybe too quick! It seems that saving new personal settings can fail.
maybe that tells you something about these quick shutdowners.. i used to have one but gave up on it after some pondering.. ;)

whenever i install Fx, i'd go for the custom install so that i can uncheck the Talkback option & DOM inspector.. not that it's proven to be faster or anything but so far i've had no complaints, even with Fx 2.0. also as advised by dk70, disable "smooth scrolling"..

aye, from the screenshot, it looks ok to me. btw, does the smtp server has any restrictions on sending binaries or a quota on message size, etc.?

for further trouble-shooting, try-out an alternate program so that we can narrow it down to either SC or the SMTP server.. here's my post on using an alternate app - https://www.donation...45.msg36606#msg36606.

cool script, skrommel but as usual, more suggestions.. ;)
• i want to be able to specify shortcuts names, like the script by thesteve.
• in case of no shortcut names, remove the '.exe' from created shortcuts. (see item.1)
• more customizeable drop-box. i.e. remembers location & size. (item.2)
• right-click on drop-box to choose new output path or at least show a input-box for copy/paste the output path.

an interesting screen saver that was sitting on my hard-disk - Juggle Saver, now a freeware (as of version 0.33).

Juggle Saver. My first program I ever released on the web. A mesmerizing screensaver showing an accurate 3D simulation of a figure juggling.

btw, i think Antitrust is quite a decent tech/thriller movie.
