now that you mention it, salamander also has some cmd-line option for left-right panels.. jdmarch, why don't you post this request in the Custom File Explorer thread itself? this way, it will be easier for mouser to work at it..

mouser, thanks for including my chdir suggestions in the new v2.28.06..

• Hold Shift in MoveTo menu to switch to the target dir instead of moving; Hold Ctrl to switch after moving.

the Shift key+menu combo works fine but if there are a lot of files (in my case, more than 200) in the target folder, SC is quite slow to load them all.. so i was wondering if an image-only filter can be applied to the thumbnail pane..

i feel that this would be a great feature as a plug-in.. since Windows run-box can auto-complete URLs, there should an entry in the registry which Farr can access to do the same..

I did and it will not process the subdirectories and put back in the same folder.  All the photo's ended up in the single directory and not in the subdirectory.

almost there but there are still some rough edges..

• the .exe appears again on the newly-created shortcuts.. (see above).
• besides this syntax, <path to source file>,<target folder>\<name of shortcut>.lnk, i also want to be able use this format: <path to source file>,<name of shortcut>.lnk, the target folder being the current folder of the text file.

for my kid's pc, i use nircmd's infobox command with batchrun to put up with a small message box so that he doesn't click all over the place while the pc is loading..

Were you using "Copy Path" to paste it into the search window? I did a lot of that until I discovered the RIGHT arrow.

i knew about the right-arrow key but i copy paths mainly for pasting into file dialogs.. i don't use the browse button that much..

as for 2nd question, when i'm found the folder i want. i want to be able to press 'Enter' to copy the path, instead of right-clicking on choosing 'Copy target path to clipboard'.

sorry but the results are erratic.. btw, nice touch with the msg-box, i can monitor what's going on..
anyway, here is my text file with results. so that you can have a better picture..

mouser, more suggestions..
• an option to show folders only, without the files, opposite of the period (.) command at the end of the path.
• in case of folders, pressing of 'enter' only copies the path. (as an additional option).

and for clearing-up something, if \\ is for 1st level sub-folders then must i use \\\ for 2nd level sub-folders and so on, or can i just use \*\ for subsequent folders?

mouser,
in folder node, *.lnk files with '&' as part of their name doesn't show the sign. i have to rename the file at source, only then will it show the ampersand..
 e.g Tag & Rename.lnk  --> Tag Rename
      Tag && Rename.lnk --> Tag & Rename

i think the icon would look much nicer if the background was transparent so that it blend in with all types of themes..
