T-Clock / Re: T-Clock 2010 (download)
« Last post by lanux128 on April 12, 2012, 09:03 PM »
The T-Clock project is officially closed, as I no longer have time to continue working on it. The source code for T-Clock 2010 (unfinished but stable) build 98 is available on the download page of my website (link as usual in first post of thread).

while this makes me a little sad, i hv to thank SJ for writing a 64-bit version of TClock. this utility has made my transition to Win7 much more bearable as TClock is one of the 1st tool that i install.

so once again, thanks SJ! :Thmbsup:

General Software Discussion / AutoHotkey v2 & other changes
« Last post by lanux128 on April 10, 2012, 08:13 PM »
ahk_logo.png

this might interest all AHK aficionados here. AutoHotkey has had some big changes recently. Chris Mallett (the author) has officially handed over the reins of AutoHotkey.com in terms of ownership and design. His version of AHK is now termed 'Basic'. And the prominent fork that is, AutoHotkey_L is slated to be the official "latest version" of AutoHotkey.

AHK_L which is helmed by Lexikos is in brisk development with some enhancements such as Unicode and native 64-bit support. This project is now in testing for v2.0 (alpha release).

You may head over to the 'announcements' section at their forums (which btw has had a facelift too) to view all the postings.

Thanks for the quick response and I do have autohotkey installed.  However, when I ran the script, the notepad window appeared but it didn't stay on top :(  Of course I may have done something wrong.. (By the way, I am running Chinese Windows XP)

i'm not sure what is the title of notepad in chinese winxp but try this.

Code: Autohotkey [Select]
  1. Run, notepad.exe
  2. WinWaitActive, ahk_class Notepad
  3.   If (ErrorLevel != ERROR)
  4.         WinSet, AlwaysOnTop, On         ; set to always-on-top.

559
if you're familiar with Autohotkey, then the following would be able to do what you want.

Code: Autohotkey [Select]
  1. Run, notepad.exe
  2. WinWaitActive, Untitled - Notepad
  3.   If (ErrorLevel <> 0)
  4.         WinSet, AlwaysOnTop, On         ; set to always-on-top.

just a general note. if you're going to use an external image hosting site, please use a service like imgur, TinyPic and etc.. images posted at imageshack tend to turn into frozen frogs.

i've heard that the frozen frogs can be fixed by creating an account with imageshack. then again cookies go missing, your browser can't find your credentials and you're left staring at the frozen frog..

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: WinManagement Snap!
« Last post by lanux128 on March 20, 2012, 10:02 PM »
Interesting. I just installed it but am having problems with various scripts. Will revert to the plain AHK for now and will check later.
you can use script with vanilla AHK, just remove/comment the references to the incremental resizing part. check out the PM i sent.

(EDIT : BTW Lanux, if you want to create a new thread -- or split this one -- for AHKSnap, you can... It's different enough to justify it. It's really up to you.  :) )
no worries, it's fine the way it is. after all, the core of the script was from your script.. :)

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: WinManagement Snap!
« Last post by lanux128 on March 19, 2012, 10:24 PM »
The AHK file gives me an error : "IniRead" requires at least 4 parameters. I quickly added "size9" as the last argument. Not sure that this is the best way though --

sorry about that, Armando. i forgot to mention that the newer script uses AutoHotkey_L (a custom build of AutoHotkey). AHK_L's IniRead command is slightly different, that's why you're getting that error. :)

You can learn more about AHK_L, here.

NECRO THREAD ALERT

i had modified the original WinManagement Snap script to add/remove a few things, such as:
added
snap undo, center windows (win+numpad5) and incremental resizing (win+numpad plus/minus)

removed
resize vertically or horizontally,  max/min window, and toggle on top feature.

so with Armando's permission, here is the modified script (ahk+exe), feel free to modify it for your own purposes.

note: to add/remove resolutions for the incremental resizing feature, you may need to edit AhkSnap.ini.

[Size]
;variables here
size1= 320,240
size2= 640,480
size3= 800,600
size4= 1024,768
size5= 1152,864
size6= 1280,600
size7= 1280,720
size8= 1280,768
size9= 1280,800
size10= 1360,768
size11= 1440,900
