Skwire Empire / Re: Anuran: AnuVu: search box missing
« Last post by skwire on May 16, 2017, 04:48 PM »
Version 1.1.2.1. Windows 10. The search box is missing on the AnuVu page. I've tried setting program for compatibility with Windows 7, but no change.

Hi, orbis, and welcome to  the DonationCoder site.   Can you please post a screenshot of the AnuVu window?

Ok fellow DonationCoder members, it seems to me the least we can do is help Hugo achieve this modest goal.
I've sent Hugo a donation -- I hope you others will as well.  Just click on the gold coin under his name.

Done.  Enjoy your lunch!

BtW, by "same drive" do you mean an entire physical hard drive itself or just a logical partition?

Same logical partition.

Also, it would be helpful to be able to export the results of the checksum comparison report as a txt or html formatted file.

See new version below.

Heh, it's ok skwire.   I also posted to your Splat post linked from your app. I fell in love with this app!

I really need to find time to update Splat a bit.  Lot of potential in that app.

I would absolutely love if skwire would create something like Open++ because it's discontinued, outdated, and buggy.

Probably not going to happen as I just copy over my SendTo folder contents from my daily backups whenever I have to reinstall.

Only thing that I can see to improve is the series option.

Did you actually mean the episode option?

Love it. Just maybe a way to increase font size for large monitors and people (me) who's eyesight is no longer the greatest.

Please re-download and check the Options menu.  I think this is ready for a website release.  Thanks for the idea.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Good to know I was on the right track.

Is it possible to have access to all the information that the OMDB API uses?

I added all the tags/tokens I could find.  Let me know if I missed any.

How hard is it to add right click function? The idea all the call terms could be on a context menu.

I've included an "Insert tokens" button with menu.

Since you threw in the series is it possible to add the episode function?

The episode stuff will take a bit of thought as the data it returns is different than movie or tv series data.

Here's the download:  http://skwire.dcmemb...db_tool/OMDbTool.zip

So the idea is to use OMDB.com API to gather the information and the parse the information into a given template. Be nice if each had a spot to make a template as you wanted. Here is an example of the OMDB api data return.

Here's a quick proof of concept I threw together.  Was this something like what you had in mind?

2017-04-09_024211.png

I admit I would rather have IMDB for all the cast/director links but figure OMDB might be easier to work with.

Unfortunately, IMDB do not have any sort of official API.  Hence the need for sites like this OMDB API.

N.A.N.Y. 2014 / Re: NANY 2014 Release - epCheck
« Last post by skwire on April 06, 2017, 11:44 PM »
Hi, ganymede4, and welcome to the DonationCoder forums.

First is a bit of a bug: sometimes when updating shows (refresh data option), refreshing the view on the weekly tab or adding a new show from search, a random amount of ticks disappear from the list of shows marked as watched. It is usually most of them which is not good as it's thousands of checkboxes. Sometimes it will leave one or two checked per show but it is completely random. It's extremely frustrating.

Are you using the beta from this post here:  https://www.donation....msg368839#msg368839

In addition to the new features, I tried to improve the bug you mentioned in that beta, too.

Second is a small feature request: Would it be possible to have an option for the refresh data option to only update shows listed as "continuing". It seems an unnecessary waste of time to check TVDB for cancelled/completed shows whose listing have been static for long periods, particularly for those with a lot of shows in their list.

If you're letting epCheck update the data automatically, it should only update the shows that have changed data (according to TheTVDB).  So, even if a show is "ended", there's still a chance the data may have been edited.  Now, if you go into the Options and choose the "Refresh all series data now" button, it will download each series' data no matter what.

Do you have any idea what to do?

4wd already gave you some options:

1) Root the phone and install a new ROM on it or, if you're not comfortable doing that, 2) return the phone and buy a local phone so you can get some local support/help.

It keeps freezing and I have to restart

So, for a month and a half, you've been using a phone that you're not happy with instead of returning it and getting your money back?  C'mon, you really need to learn to help yourself, and make some decisions on your own, instead of relying on everybody else to tell you what to do, what to buy, what to whatever...

Developer's Corner / Re: Do you use a good office chair when programming?
« Last post by skwire on March 31, 2017, 03:21 PM »
I bought a Maverick A4 chair from Office Depot ten years ago and it still looks near brand new.  It's astonishing, really, if you consider how many hours I've got in this chair.  When I'm not travelling for work, I work from home so you can imagine the amount of work (and play) time I have in this seat.  I did have to replace the height-adjustment piston a few years ago but that's to be expected as they don't last forever.  The chair actually has a ten-year warranty on it, too.

Skrommel's Software / Re: Desklock runs Notepad on startup
« Last post by skwire on March 22, 2017, 08:36 AM »
I have the exe file in the Startup folder.

Is it possible to put the EXE in its own folder and then create a shortcut in the Startup folder.  At that point, it should create the settings file in the folder where the EXE is.  If that doesn't work, I'll see about modifying the code for you.

Are you putting the DeskLock.exe file in the startup folder?  Or, do you have the DeskLock.exe elsewhere and are just adding a shortcut to the Startup folder?

Daily refresh is unusable :(

Agreed.

This app can handle other weather info API somehow?

No.  All the other weather APIs I've researched are very limited in what they offer for free.

"Last provider update was at 05:00 PM CET"

So, it is every two hours.  Unfortunately, this is the standard for the Yahoo! Weather API these days.

"Last provider update was at 03:00 AM CET". As I remember I always see this...

If that's the case, it unfortunately looks like the Yahoo! Weather API only gets updates for your location once per day.

Skwire Empire / Re: Release: SFV Ninja (Simple File Verification application)
« Last post by skwire on March 17, 2017, 11:02 AM »
That's what I thought would be the steps, except when I created the checksum file and moved it to the other folder, then selected "Load checksum file" -> "Verify All", all I got was the program re-verifying all the files in the initial folder that the checksum was created from. I also tried "Scan folder for checksum file and load" and got the same result.

This might be a bit confusing but where you save the SFV file is important in relation to which files are in the list:

  • Files that are on the same drive as the saved SFV file path are saved with paths relative to the save folder.
  • Files that are on a different drive than the saved SFV file path are saved with full paths.

So, in your example of using Folder A and Folder B, you load the contents of Folder A in SFV Ninja, check them, and then you must save the SFV directly in Folder A in order to generate the correct relative paths for use when you move the SFV file to Folder B.  Does this make sense?

Also would like to make a suggestion to Jody/skwire (not sure which you prefer), can you add a "clear selected" option?

I can add it to the menu (oversight on my part) but, in the meantime, simply press Delete after selecting/highlighting the items you want to remove.

Hi, totya, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

In this app the current temperature is 12C. But this isn't true. If I click to "full forecast" from this app, this link open in the web browser: link and it show the correct temperature, which is now 5C.

The issue is that sWeather gets its data from the Yahoo! Weather API and the Yahoo! Weather website does not.  For whatever reason, the website gets its data from Weather.com.

I have two folders, say named Folder A and Folder B.
They're stored under different paths and have different names. Inside are other nested folders and files, which have the same general directory structure, but may or may not all match. What I'm trying to find out is exactly what's there and what's not, and for the ones that have same filename and patch, whether they're indeed the exact same files.

Even though I'm the developer of SFV Ninja, as Deo mentioned, what you need is a diff program -- something like Beyond Compare from Scooter Software.  Here's a screenshot showing what you're describing:

FolderCompare.png

Beyond Compare is a wonderful program that I've used for over ten years.

  • Select the text you want to modify.
  • Do a search for " "
  • Do a replace for ""
  • Done.

That won't work because you will replace the necessary spaces between words, too.
574
As I told you already, nobody can know which space to delete and which not.

Actually, so long as distorted text has extra spaces between ALL characters (which includes the space character), you can make this work.  Every real space will have two spaces instead of one so you can do it like this:

Code: Autohotkey [Select]
  1. #T:: ; Windows+T hotkey.  Change as desired.
  2. {
  3.     ; T h i s  i s  a  v e r y  s h o r t  s c r i p t  ; Sample of distorted text.
  4.     ;        ^^   ^^ ^^       ^^         ^^             ; Double spaces where single spaces should be.
  5.
  6.     Clipboard := "" ; Empty the clipboard.
  7.     Send, ^c        ; Copy selected text to the clipboard.
  8.     ClipWait, 2     ; Wait for text to be put on the clipboard.
  9.
  10.     ; Transform text.
  11.     myString := Clipboard
  12.     myString := StrReplace( myString, "  ", "§" ) ; Replace all double-spaces with a temporary section (§) character.
  13.     myString := StrReplace( myString, " ", "" )   ; Collapse remaining spaces.
  14.     myString := StrReplace( myString, "§", " " )  ; Replace temporary section (§) characters with a single space.
  15.
  16.     Clipboard := myString ; Copy new string back to the clipboard.
  17. }
  18. Return

Contro, give the above AHK code a try and see if it works for you.  Again, this will only work if each real space is actually two spaces when your text is distorted.

N.A.N.Y. 2012 / Re: NANY 2012 Release: MPH (Media Player Hotkeys)

Hi, bkvamme, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

Any chance of adding support for Plex Media Player? It has support for Media Keys, but needs the program to be in focus when pressing the buttons.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to the browser-based Plex Media Player, right?  If so, and in my experience, there really isn't a reliable way to control these types of players remotely the way that MPH works.  As an aside, I run a Plex server and love it's functionality.   :Thmbsup:
