The topic is exactly the same.
I'd suggest reading it all closely.

To fully disclose:
I have created this application as I was not satisfied with current solutions, I am doing another job half time and using this application every day in work ...

there's also the Announce Your Software/Service/Product section.
Generally here, being a creator is something positive

I'm only as sharp as a marble, Iain. What does that pic mean? : (

Well, have a quick look at the first two paragraphs of the Jimmy Saville page:

thanks Ren, looking forward to that

Seems to be a (relatively) recent addition, though:
http://www.outlookin.../article.aspx?220045
thanks Edvard.

Interestingly, that article also says:

The trishul, Jha says, is being appropriated by political Hinduism the same way it claimed the cow as a holy symbol in the 19th century to counter British aggression.

I didnt know that about the 'holy cow'.

Anyways,
probably enough serious talk for a Silly Homour thread ;-)

We just need a court to rule that kittens cause rainbows and the world will be a happier place.

Living Room / Re: Remember to make full drive image backups
« Last post by tomos on October 20, 2012, 04:32 PM »
I have versioned document backups running in real time, onto a separate hard drive mounted on my pc; I do this to protect myself from accidentally deleted a file i later realize i need, or making changes to a document that i realize i shouldn't have, etc.  This has to run all the time.

Now this dual approach takes care of most of my WORRIES.  However, I have recently forced myself to use an online backup system.

I back up [my versioned backups of important stuff] online.
Should do the off-site backup as well but dont ...

Gnesa's Wilder is still a better love story than Twilight. Cool

you mean you listened to the words :tellme:

(I did go back for a second listen, but I haven't heard the whole video ...)

thanks fenix, came across a couple of strange ones there (how about a religion that believes the earth was created by a species of extraterrestrials - their symbol is a swastika within a star of David ...)

- the table is actually a gate and is Shinto (Japanese)
- I never knew this one: the ship's steering wheel is for buddhism (the 'Wheel of Dharma'). I had thought the hand was Buddhist but that is Jainism.

- it's still not clear what the trident is (possibly paganism?)

General Software Discussion / Re: Transpose 2.3.1.3
« Last post by tomos on October 20, 2012, 01:28 PM »
seems to work via registry:

How do I use it? Getting Started
Add a new key mapping or edit an existing one
Click "Write to registry" and wait for a confirmation that the registry was successfully updated
Close SharpKeys and either log out (and back in) or reboot to enforce the new mappings

Tao, FWIW,
recommendation for remap software via mouser:

Fannon -- thanks for the tip about using SharpKeys to reassign Capslock; i've added a tip about that in the FARR help file for people who want to use CapsLock -- it seems like a good choice especially for laptop users.

was looking at it lately - looks like it will change Ctrl key

Priceless.
A piece of biting sarcasm and fair comment from reason.tv's Hit & Run Blog, about a Promotional Poster in the European Commission
 (see attachment in previous post)

also odd because it doesnt exist anymore....

Anyone know
- what's the symbol that looks like a table for?
- and the one that looks like a ship's steering wheel? (maybe simply seafarers)
- and the trident???  (seafarers covered already, some interesting possibilities in wikipedia http://en.wikipedia....ymbolism.2Fmythology)

Glad you like it. I don't believe there's any way to disable just a modifier key using ahk. But this site shows how to use a keyboard mapper software to disable a single key:

http://blog.enrii.co...ey-in-your-keyboard/

(I believe) you could always just change it to shift with AHK -
wouldnt matter if you miss then :)

ABBYY Screenshot Reader can do this. Looks like it's free if you fill out their survey:

http://www.abbyy.com/screenshot_reader/

or,
here's an even shorter route (but might be an older version):

I just checked and you can apparently still get the FREE ABBY Screenshot Reader "RETAIL" (2011 Christmas giveaway) software - download from http://fr7.abbyy.com...enshotReader_ESD.exe

The "newer" version I have (dated 2009-11-20) seems to work just the same as the giveaway version (apparently dated 2009-01), so I don't know what the difference is - if any.

Living Room / Re: The Free Videos Thread
« Last post by tomos on October 20, 2012, 04:29 AM »
I unfortunately cant make any comment on the video cause I cant see the beggar (again below), but if f you're going to post a controversial video, I think it deserves an appropriate title ;)

I put the title as the producer has it, with a description. Not sure what else I can do. It's their perogative to give it a name - not mine. ;)
I left out an important word there :-[
what I meant to say was that if you were going to post a controversial video, I think the thread deserves an appropriate (i.e. related) title.

Sorry for the confusion!

I dont really understand - isn't every video on youtube and or vimeo etc 'free' - that is, until it's taken down, or blocked (see below).

I unfortunately cant make any comment on the video cause I cant see the beggar (again below), but if f you're going to post a controversial video, I think it deserves an appropriate title ;)

Wasn't there a guy in Texas who claimed to have a cancer cure, and who the FDA tried to supress for years - there was a thread with a bit of discussion about him somewhere (found it).

Please! My faith in humanity rests on the answer to this question! :tellme
(literally laughing out loud here)
you're in deep trouble here deo - or should I say humanity's in trouble :-*

sometimes in life we just got to take things as they come,
and watch serenely as they drift on by

 :P

Seriously though:
if someone planned this - the raptourous comments, the 750,000 views in 12 days, (your bewilderment :P), - if they planned all this, we gotta take our hats off to them.
