there is one that is AHK-based: Magnifier.

a little bit similar to the built-in magnifier of accessories in windows. but much better performance and you have the sourcecode and can optimize it for your needs. there are over 5 versions as people in the ahk-forum optimized them for their needs. Its even fast enough to magnify flash-videos in realtime.

i'd go for AudioGrabber (freeware since v1.8x). but if you're in the browsing mood, check out, www.mp3machine.com and www.audioutilities.com. they've listed & categorized tons of tools.. 8)

according to the help file, if you give a score -9999, it won't appear again..
Farr-ext-1_ver001.png

to exclude the extensions quickly, just right-click on the extension when it appears on the results pane & choose either of the top 2 item..

mouser, i noticed this in one of the screenshots, which i think is a very unobstrusive way of showing Farr's usage tips.. is there a complete list which i can paste into Options window?

there is also OpenLaszlo which aims to transcend the various formats of the web, plenty of demos here..

OpenLaszlo is an open source platform for creating zero-install web applications with the user interface capabilities of desktop client software.

OpenLaszlo programs are written in XML and JavaScript and transparently compiled to Flash and, with OpenLaszlo 4, DHTML. The OpenLaszlo APIs provide animation, layout, data binding, server communication, and declarative UI. An OpenLaszlo application can be as short as a single source file, or factored into multiple files that define reusable classes and libraries.

also you can use WinRAR, which came out tops in DC's  Best Archive Tool review..

just select all the folders that you want to archive, and click 'Add to Archive'. In the ensuing dialog, go to 'Files' and check 'Put each file to separate archive'. that's all..

Screenshot Captor could launch an external editor upon capture (see pic)

OnCapture-1.png

but since you don't want SC running in the background, try IrfanView. i use it as my USB app (ie. when away from my PC). it can do a screen-capture and you can edit on after that..

yes, with a plugin structure in place, all those talented programmers can try a hand in writing a plugin thus enhancing its popularity/usability even more.. then mouser can sit back and watch how Farr's usage expands.. :)

yes, since firefox's bookmarks are not in a url files, it's difficult to search for them without opening Firefox itself.. so, i'm going to try out Launchy just to see how the the Foxy plugin pans out.. :)

General Software Discussion / QuickSoundSwitch
« Last post by lanux128 on January 31, 2007, 01:10 AM »
introducing QuickSoundSwitch... a nice freeware with command-line support, no need to install.. :)

QuickSoundSwitch is a small System Tray tool, which allows you to switch the default sound device with only one click.
It is useful for PCs with more than one soundcard (or for example soundcard + usb headset..)! A lot of windows programs like games, media players etc. are using the default windows sound device.
So, since I got two soundcards in my computer, I really got pissed about changeing the output device in the Control Panel all the time.

I was searching the web, but could not find a program to get rid of this..

forgot to mention earlier, i'm going for Plugin Support. btw, Launchy's version 1.0 Final already has this plugin support. among the plugins:

Foxy Plugin (foxy.dll)

The Foxy plugin will automatically load your FireFox bookmarks into the database.  Just search for them as you would applications.
Quick searches: Launchy loads Firefox quick searches and will index the keyword into the database.  Use it like you would a web search.
also, folder search & calculator plugins.. hmm.. do their authors lurk in Farr's forums? ;) anyway, more info here -> Launchy v1.0 release notes..
