Just testing your vision, Curt.

Re-reading my previous post I can now see that any resemblance of humour got 'lost in translation', so to speak. Sorry about that! I enjoyed the hidden gipsy, of course, and am thankful to Chris for drawing my attention to this particular burlesque creation; I had never heard of her before.

But what was he thinking, Mr. Cocker, to tell her to leave her hat on?!!

Anyway, it is too late:

- I would say this hidden gypsy is terrible small   and still waiting to be extracted. 79x135 is not my idea of being properly unzipped; you will need to add a zero to each number - then I can take off my glasses   and reveal Rose Lee as screensaver material.

I take the present littleness is due to compression in order to fit into a container? Hmm...

Living Room / gratis Chromatic Puzzle
« Last post by Curt on August 23, 2008, 01:12 PM »
ChromaticPuzzle http://puzzle.cynagames.com/ is now freeware

Freeware status

Q - Why is this a freeware game now?

A - The original author of ChromaticPuzzle, Valerio, is no longer part of its development, after selling his assets to Cyna Games. The new owner decided to make the game freely available partly because he was unable to figure out how the game is played.

Yes, he's a little slow. Or maybe it's just because he just hasn't had time to go through the game's help files and preferred to focus on his other two games. That will be the official answer, then.

The author would warmly appreciate that you do not tell anyone the unofficial reason. He still has friends who believe he's smart just because he made Kyodai Mahjongg all by himself. (The fools.)

Quote:
ChromaticPuzzle is a very unique puzzle game, totally different from any other game of the kind. The peculiarity of ChromaticPuzzle is that each "tile" is initially broken down into three "plates" of different color (red, green and blue). Reassembling these plates into tiles and rearranging the resulting tiles into the original image is the purpose of the game.

If it sounds like a rather minor difference, do try a game and you will quickly change your mind. ChromaticPuzzle requires lots of patience and skill and each game will keep you busy for many hours, or even days if you choose to play one of the largest puzzles with a huge number of tiles.

ChromaticPuzzle is powered by two engines (graphical and logical) that are efficient, robust and quite sophisticated. They provide excellent graphics and animation.

ChromaticPuzzle can generate a million billion different shuffles for each puzzle, which means that if you could play a game every second, twenty-four hours a day, you could expect to replay the same game after 33 million years or so!

ChromaticPuzzle includes countless outstanding features, among which are:

• open, save and delete a game

• open a recent game

• print a game

• select or delete a puzzle, with preview

• create a puzzle, with preview

• start, restart, select and pause a game

• undo move and redo move

• hint move

• flush, sort or remove elements

• select a player and modify players

• game and player statistics, with graphs

• game log

• highest scores

• grayscale puzzle background

• thumbnail

• check correct or incorrect elements

• selectable mouse pointer

• magnifying glass 2 x, 4 x or 8 x

• sound and music

• reset layout, thumbnail or recent games

• two selectable windows

• exhaustive online help with glossary

• automatic resizing

• automatic scrolling

• mouse wheel support

• and many more.

In addition, ChromaticPuzzle can be thoroughly personalized by means of a wide range of options, covering topics such as general features, bars, backgrounds, animation, sound and music.

It was REAL easy to figure out which were my SPECIAL apps - ... FileMappBB, ...

The dogkennels.net domain is for sale, and FileMapp is nowhere to be found.
Would you please tell some more about this specialist?  :tellme:

How is it to use WinRar together with Firefox + Download Statusbar [DSb]?? I mean, it is so easy just to double-click the file's icon in DSb, but do I have any chance of using different profiles in this situation - it sounds to me as if the profile feature is connected to the context menu ??

@ vixay - regarding Synergy: Can you disable / modify the common screensaver start/stop feature, so you have one or more screensavers running while you are working on one of the other screens at the same time?
5434
The Tidy feature you all were asking for:

export.gif

I am sorry for the delay, but I simply didn't remember this feature until I once again was actually using the program
- I should have been fast asleep several hours ago, it is deep night around here!
5435
... This "group by type" seems like the right feature, but it's not automatic as far as i can tell...

- I am so sorry! I simply had forgotten that the grouping feature in Vista Start Menu Pro [VSM] is based on  that I also have Tidy Start Menu Pro, by the same author, and VSM then imports these groups from Tidy. And of course you are right, the feature is not all automatic, Tidy will only auto-sort a few well known programs (like Microsoft Office, and certain games), and you will have to manually categorize the rest. But that is quite easy:

Tidy.gif

http://www.tidystartmenu.com/index.shtml

Edited:
Right now you can have both of them for a total of merely $20
(but if you later want to update VSM you will have to first purchase it separately).

Most of version 4 has been rewritten, so I think it must be a question of not yet having written the feature into - not having  removed.

About WinRar - well, I never took the time to learn how to use it, because it is shareware,
but I guess I now will have to; this profile feature sounds really useful!

Dirhael is right, and I am once again guilty of not expressing myself clearly. If I am unpacking a new version of a Nirsofer program, I will of course NOT want the unzipper to rename the exe file, but to replace the old version. But if I am extracting dozens of zip files containing both icons and readme files, I would not want it to replace the readmes, but to rename them. Of course various icons too can have similar names, but that is another problem. So in general it is the readme file only, that is important for me to rename. I am sorry I didn't point this out more clearly. I guess I should just learn to take the time to adjust the settings before extracting, but is so common to name the readme just that, readme, so I was expecting some author already had come with the feature to rename readmes only.

What is the best unzipper?

There are a great number of zippers and unzippers, and I am using both AL-Zip and 7-Zip, and have tried several other 'container' handling programs, over time; but never have I been fully satisfied! Quite often I decide to bulk download a lot of zip containers containing icons, and unzip them into as few folders as possible, in order to sort out those icons I don't want to keep. But icons as well as many other files are often followed by a readme.txt or readme.rtf - a readme that I of course would like to keep. But not once have I met an unzipper that would offer me to auto-rename these readmes! This is a very disappointing mis-feature, in my opinion! I mean, these zip authors are downloading things themselves, don't they ever end up in the same situation, having to choose between overwriting  or  not (bulk) extracting at all?
Of course you understand that I am not talking about replacing or renaming everything, but renaming readmes only.

So I came here to ask what UNZIPPER 'you' think is The Best?
  • and if it can offer such "auto-rename readme" feature, please?

Including this feature might make it The Best Unzipper, in my opninion!

There so many unzippers that I have decided not to set up a poll. Not yet, anyway.

we consider add this function in the next version.

the answers to your issues:

1)
  • I have not been able to figure out how to Export to SVG. Please direct me!

Edraw products don't support SVG format.

2)
  • Are there any differences between my "normal" copy of Max 4 and yesterday's giveawayoftheday copy (except for lack of support & updates)?
The advertisement in the giveawayoftheday is our commercial activity; the user could only activate the license code yesterday. You could register your product anytime.

The license code in the giveawayoftheday is only for personal, not for business.
The people use the license code is only for one computer, and they have only one time to activate the license code. But you could use both in your office and your home computer.
We don't support and provide updates to that license code.

3)
  • I think you should think about setting up a user's forum.
We have closed the user's forum because of the lots of spam. We consider building up it again in the future.

Thank you for your suggestion

The major reason I was asking if anyone could tell about their experience with BeyoindSync  is  that I have it myself - I got it from Giveawayoftheday - but I don't like it! I was then thinking  that  maybe this is because I haven't figured out how to use it at it's best,  so I better ask.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Movavi VideoSuite 50% off sale
« Last post by Curt on August 19, 2008, 03:42 AM »
I don't know anything about goats, but I did notice that tinyvillager was pleased with a converter application from Movavi, and I know the same converter is part of the VideoSuite, which is now on offer again. Still their homepage is trying to list the normal price as "before $80, now $60", but  as you can calculate  it has been $60 for at least two years. The discount code 9ED36FD6 will extract 50% off the price, making it $30. The deal will also offer you their AudioSuite at a reduced priced, $60 > $42.

I do *not* have any application from Movavi installed, and I don't have any goats...
