In other words, they're doing the same thing that law enforcement has been doing for years....Guilt by association....

Maybe, but it's all different now with a patent!

does that mean no-one else will be able to do it?
or just that they'll have to pay google ...

Maybe we could charge google for us being friends with people who do dodgy crap on the net ...
Seriously though, what does this mean (for us) ?

Avoid google+ ???

Most important point - they all actually worked

I'm unable to comment there (timed out) so I'll comment here -
Thanks for the review, it's even helpful to know that they all actually work...
Dunno who did the graphics - but I have *no* idea what length e.g. 1,350 seconds is - I'm sure most other people work better in minutes too.
DriveImage XML's sins seem to be forgivable to me.

relipse,
the open in new tab seems to work okay (it wouldnt stop for me once, but I just closed the tab and havent had that problem since).
I probably should install it anyway if I'm going to keep using it ;-)

Some thoughts on time columns:

People keep track of non-billable time too. Then there's the scenario where you do related work when *not* on/at a computer.
Then there's the scenario where you might have different rates for different work within the same project - this is easily covered though by using different logs.

Another scenario is where you forget to click STOP. Done that already today - I wrote the project an IOU for 1/2 an hour.
I've very little experience with time-tracking software so I'll just throw out this idea:
Three or four time columns:
   1) Calculated time
   2) Additional time - an add or subtract column (e.g. for the iou example above I would simply subtract .5 hours)
   3) Non-billable (I wouldnt find this important myself, dunno about others)
   4) Actual or Total time = #1 combined with #2 (automatically adjusted)

Then at a glance one could see Calculated; how much adjustment there has been, Additional; and total.

Thanks 4WD

PolaDSR is attached as it's a little hard to find now - it's free and hasn't been in development since 2002.

I was going to ask about a plugin but see you've answered already

Already have the filter, Polaroid Dust & Scratch Remover, the installer provides a standalone and 8bf for Photoshop or something that'll use them.

Windows 7 is supported until 2020 ...

Sorry I didn't mean it could be found in a few seconds, it would take some detective work and thinking.  There is no link anywhere for it, and there is nothing in this thread to tell you how to find it.. You have to think outside of thread :)

I presumed outside the thread, but 'no link' :-\

edit/
well, I found this (giving up now though ;-)

I'm really not sure what niche this tool serves.. But maybe it will find one before all is said and done..

as a plugin to SC is a niche in itself

Teaser Alert:

By the way, you shouldn't bother to try to find it because i will be updating it more and providing necessary instructions on how to use it.. but clever folks should probably be able to find a download for the beta right now.  ;)

I dont seem to be clever enough...
too late for me anyways ;-)

Looks very nice. It doesn't seem to want to accept input in the actual hours field. I'll enter a number, but it always reverts back to 0. I've tried hitting enter and tabbing out of the field but neither seems to work. Editing start and stop times also seems to be a problem. I doubleclick as directed but nothing happens. Probably just something I don't understand how to do.

I'm using Firefox 16.0.2

This problem is fixed

yes, confirmed :-)
I'm also now able to change hourly rate in the log view and it is applied correctly
[edit] for the calculated hours. I'm still unclear - are the 'actual hours' meant to include uncharged time? [/edit]

2) I'm unable to delete a company - keeps going from the second confirmation dialogue back to the first.

Thank you for the bug submission, I just indeed fixed this and uploaded a new delete.php. Please try it again

that's working now
I had somehow made three companies with the same name (I didnt report it because I wasn't fully sure how I did it :-\)

When I click on the Companies icon, I'm able to edit the name of the company. Also I'm able to change the hourly rate. This is not reflected in current logs - which is correct behaviour.
The ability though, to edit the rate & the hours within a log is important imo. I presume 'Actual hours' is meant to be manually modifiable?

Likewise with the Price Rate field - I'm unable to change this for a log.
The number remains the same and I get the message:
'no work log found'

I logged out and in again to make sure my work log was really there (it's still there!).

hi relipse
I'm trying the website :)

1) When I try to open the timer (clock icon) in a new tab (via the context menu) I just get another instance of the main window.
I dont like popups because I tend to forget them - I use FF with session saver - and if I close the window and the popup is in the back, session saver no longer remembers the tabs in the window I just closed...

2) I'm unable to delete a company - keeps going from the second confirmation dialogue back to the first.

Not something I know much about, but Nate Silver was giving a 90.9% chance of winning in the end and apparently he predicted 49 of 50 states correctly.
Nate Silver correctly predicts 49 out of 50 states (timesofindia)
& his blog is here

IIUC the next step in the script is to copy the file path from properties -
this seems to be not possible with adobe -
see the file properties dialogue:

Screenshot - 2012-11-07 , 16_15_21.png

the tab 'Description' has focus - but I dont see anyway of copying the file path cause it isn't shown in one string anywhere in the properties...

mmm [scratches head]  :-\

I found the window class:
AcrobatSDIWindow

All shortcuts now have an effect, but not as planned:
They open the 'Document Properties' window (within Adobe Reader). Once. If I close the properties window, the key kombo has no effect next time.

(These shortcuts otherwise have no effect, i.e. only have an effect when the script is running.)

What with Adobe wanting to take over the world (who doesn't these days) it wouldn't suprise me that they somehow block any 'meddling'.

If you've any ideas, let me know. It's not so important to me, but always interesting to learn a little :-)

I could use this too!

Adobe Reader is my default PDF reader.
Occasionally I then want to open the PDF in PDF-Xchange

so I tried changed window class to
ADOBE_PDF_FRAME
and put in the PDF-Xchange path in place of Nitro (there's no spaces in. Also it's the portable version)

I also had to change the F4 as that is used in Adobe Reader - I tried a couple, have F12 now.

Maybe I have the window class wrong? This doesnt work either:
ADOBEREADER_PDF_FRAME

TIA

Here's a higher resolution copy

Tomos: What gave you the idea that you could find a higher-resolution image somewhere other than the home site?

I did find it at the same site - just kept clicking till I could read it.

You two talking in code now or what :P

I see from a quick search that the Nigerian president is called Goodluck Jonathan and he endorses one of the canditates (probably not much influence there, but might sway people in the other direction...). An entertaining read.

the real reason
Renegade is actually (really, honestly,) very PC, that's why he doesnt mention politician's names (on dc).

I kinda dread rebooting because I lose almost 10 minutes to MS Security Essentials. The bonus time losses occur when you Rightclick - New file - ______, and Rightclick - Send to _____. Plus Firefox and Open Office take a bunch of time to open the first time in after a boot as well.

I've skipped rebooting from updates until I had a couple in a row because it's so bad. : (

wow, that's bad - are you on windows 7 or XP?
Lucky enough win 7 still boots quite fast here (without OO, otherwise similar)

This brought a huge smile to my face (direct youtube link):

Have you ever had a dream that you can play the guitar effortlessly and produce beautiful music and it happens in your dreams like it just flows out of you without requiring any concentration or planning.. this video made me think of such dreams.

this guy - Ronnie Moipolai, from Botswana, is doing a concert in Cape Town in January
with a David Kramer (possibly the youtube uploader) and some guy from the desert that
plays a three stringed box fiddle style instrument (one for 40!).
Nice to see him getting around anyway
