I put a lot of work into the MANUAL scrolling capture method in Screenshot Captor, which should work in all cases, with just a little bit of effort. It doesn't require any fancy sending of mouse or keyboard signals to the target app, but will help you stitch together multiple images.

For what you are trying to do (commandline screenshot grabbing), may I recommend Screenshot Captor's little brother: MiniCap
It is made to do exactly what you are doing and is built with same codebase as SC.

if some other app has taken over the PrtScr button, try setting a different capture button from the SC options.

oops sorry i didn't realize you had posted in the right area after all, my apologies.

So, first things first, if you make a capture, like a screen capture, you can choose a preset region side from edit menu (and you can customize the choices in options), and then hold ALT key while you drag with mouse to preserve the aspect radio.

Just something I noticed, in the View menu you have two options showing as using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+T.

it's a flaw in the current version of screenshot captor -- i really need to add support for SSL email sending.. thanks for the nudge, i will try to do it asap.

there is a workaround -- which is to configure a custom email sender for SC and use one of the "sendmail" clones.  SC is built to allow you to do this, and i believe lanux128 on the forum does this.
