Living Room / 007 James Bond
« Last post by Curt on October 24, 2008, 04:27 PM »
You will have to imagine for yourself the attached images that came along with this e-mail today:

James Bond is walking in the park

he meets a genuine Bond-girl, and stops

he is looking thoroughly at her , but then he looks at this watch

she is noticing this, and asks if he is waiting to meet someone

"No, I am just testing my super hi-tech watch which is talking to me"

"Oh, and what is your watch telling you right now?"

"It is telling me that you are not wearing any underwear"

"Well, in fact I am wearing underwear"

Bond is looking at his watch again, and says,

"Oh, it must be an hour ahead!"

So, you see, you must remember to set back the clock, one hour (Saturday night)! Put on your underwear, girls; No more summertime! Well, that goes for Europe. Are America and Asia also changing back from summer-time (even though you call it something different) to normal-time, this week-end??  :tellme:

- and I didn't understand it until you, Deozaan explained it  :-[  But then again, I never go to myspace and don't understand why anyone would want a lot of fake accounts such place?

We should could of course also mention Free Download A Day, http://www.freedownloadaday.com/ , lately they have literally been updating the site daily :-)
5256
it is only a matter of time until Bits du Jour is cloned.

You used the word "clone", so Iconico Daily Deals should of course be mentioned, as they own both sites:

- as it is Windows Media 9, it shouldn't have to do with the codecs

I was lucky with the timing, the thing was actually MOVING when I watched!

 :P

---

To my (lack of) understanding you only have a choice to save&use the playlist - but I haven't tried to do so with this particular stream. In the end the visible picture may be too small to use as a screensaver? Rather use it as a widget 'on the side' if you have a widescreen monitor.

Edit:

I myself bought a license for PTFB Pro, when it was featured on Bits du Jour.

I have licenses for PromptPal and ColorCache from the same company, and also bookmarked their PTFB, but I could not accept their asking price - because of the free ClickOff! And now you tell me that PTFB also has been offered at Bits du Jour - and I didn't see it !!!   even though I get their email every week!   :(

I have given up on beer, so I may be stuck with paragraphs #1 and #2 when I finally take my new Vista into use. I assume you are not running Vista, or are you accumulating an addiction to beer?

What's the point of DAS Keyboard?

- the point of Das Keyboard is the mechanical quality, not some features.

Found these for you: WatchDirectory - site is in Dutch...

- a little strange. At vnunet the program is announced as being freeware, in version 4.2.2, but in fact the Standard edition is $69, in version 4.5.5, and the Pro edition is $129 - and there is no freeware edition!

The good news is that they give you both 30 days of trial AND a 30-day Money-back guarantee!

- why not just re-install the Real thing, and let it to DrmRemoval to free the clips once and for all? DR might be strange and ugly to look at, but it works very well - also with Rhapsody.

QLiner Hotkeys makes the fastest way the prettiest way
-Curt
-Re: My favorite software! What's yours?
- QLiner Hotkeys used to be a favourite of mine because the popup keyboard makes it easy to be reminded of which hotkey I am looking for - I tend to have forgotten hotkeys when I have to use them  :-[

I was hoping Curt would read the thread!

- thanks, Mike, I will take the time and read some more of the Norton thread.
I was just reminded that I have a terrible memory, because I realized that I already have downloaded a copy of 'TweakUAC' and saved it to my external drive; waiting for Vista...

There's also (not tried by me) ClickOff, also freeware
http://www.johannesh...com/en/clickoff.html
- a "s" was missing, so here is the corrected link:

I use ClickOff all of the time... I almost *LOVE* this little program :-*

You guys are making me regretting that I purchased a Vista, even before I have taken it into use!!

Where is that page, "Install this fix, and it will make your Vista behave like a XP SP4...."?? :tellme:

- so I guess I will have to close down AIMP2 when I am using pressnext for WMP??
- yes, that is the price. A terrible high cost!  :o   :P

The situation is that I have downloaded a couple of thousand DRM protected music files that each need to be activated online, in order to be played without any hassle. It is unbearable to have to use the mouse several times for each and every track, so I wanted to automate the procedure, and also to make it happen in a hurry - hence the twenty seconds. The reason I am using was trying to use AIMP2 at the same time is of course that it is NOT nice to listen to ten-seconds clips all the time...., and with two players at the same time I was hoping just to turn down the sound for WMP, and listen to AIMP2. But I guess I will survive a little silence!

Thanks a lot, jgpaiva, it's working exactly as I asked for.
