Too bad, could've solved issues with missing Wingding (Webding?) fonts on certain machines. Oh well... *sigh*
I actually have a solution to this issue; just need to get off my arse and implement it.

Another find is a full set of black/white media icons in %system%\mci32.ocx
[...]
However I'm not sure if that ocx is 16bit or 32bit and if it's present in all Win versions.  :tellme:
It's a Visual Basic 6 OCX file but I don't think it's part of the standard runtimes since I don't have that particular file on my box (but do have the runtimes).

I think everybody is missing the key element here...it's not only the folder structure the OP wants, it's all the files, too (as zero-byte files).

I don't see a way to remove the playlist index of the current item from the titlebar. (since it doesn't appear in String Formatting > Titlebar, but still appears in the titlebar).

This is automatically added for compatibility with the WinampAPI that's built into Trout.  I'll add a ToDo to make the WinampAPI stuff an option.

Also... would it be possible to add more ways for files passed through the command line to be handled.

Yes, that's on my ToDo as well.  Thanks for your feedback.

Code doesn't write itself, eh?   :D  Thanks for your kind compliments.  As I've mentioned before, I really enjoy making quick apps such as this one.

Maybe the files are not in the same folder, and not by that not selectable at the same time. One by one dropping would be cool.

Try build 6.  You now have two drop methods available:
  • You can drag-n-drop one file on to each of the edit fields
  • You can drag-n-drop two files anywhere on the form.

Give Switcheroo a try and see if it's what you had in mind.

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: GUI enhanced start up delayer
« Last post by skwire on June 03, 2009, 10:25 AM »
I've had this idea since DOS had the option to provide a delayed startup of it's config.sys and autoexec.bat files via a keyboard click.

And ever since I found Startup Delayer from r2 studios I've been using it, and it's great.
The editing GUI is actually fantastic, although some tweaks would be even better, bet overall it's fantastic, and cover everything needed.

But....
The startup launching GUI is a bit too simplistic, and could be enhanced with a simple functionally which is currently missing:

Gal, have you approached the original author of this app?  That might be the easiest way to get your ideas implemented.

There's something very strange with trout and something else I install.
I tried it on XP 32, the window shows up in taskbar, but does not come to front.
same on windows server 2008 64.
I have no idea what could cause this!
I have to kill the window with right click + close on task bar.

You reported this issue in this thread back on Jan 30, 2009.  Several suggestions were offered but I don't recall seeing a reply from you after that.
Also, you reported something similar way back on December 22, 2007 here: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=11455.0  and said that you had found the culprit in TrayIt.

I can't seem to play audio CD's in Trout.

Uhhhh....errrrmmm....hmmmm...maybe try v1.0.3 build 26 and we'll just forget this ever happened.   :P

Lately, I've been trying to improve Trout's internet streaming capabilities.  The latest build adds support for ASX/WMA/AAC streams.  Please let me know if you encounter issues with any streams.

v1.0.3 build 25
+ Support for ASX/WMA internet streams and their tags (if present).
+ Added a second search button to the lyrics window.  Now, you can search
an artist specifically without having to blank out the title field.
    * Improvements to playlist parsing routines for streaming URLs.

v1.0.3 build 11
! Fixed the lyrics window not showing on startup properly.  (Thanks, lanux128)

v1.0.3 build 7
! Fixed toaster not disappearing on click when set that way.  (Thanks, app103)

Also, I've been working on a Shoutcast/Icecast radio station browser.  Here's where it's at so far:

Finished Programs / Re: Scan music collection for missing covers/artwork
« Last post by skwire on May 18, 2009, 04:50 PM »
I spent a whole weekend tagging and searching covers, and Covart Explorer was a great help. :D

Great to hear.

One thing I think could make it a bit better still would be to have a list below the cover, where other image files are listed. In many cases, I found that I did have the covers in some shape or form, be it as a whole scanned booklet, special edition cover, promo stickers or whatever else they manage to add to an album.

Something like this?
2009-05-18_164350.png

Anyhow yeah, that was a little derail. Thanks for a great app, it served its purpose well - I just hope I can manage to keep on top of my covers from here on forth or I'll end up coming back for more... :D

You're welcome; I'm glad I was able to help out.

Sorry skwire but I think I'm bringing up a worthy competitor.
Itunes Store validator Is the killer app for missing covers. And it gets 600x600 covers, from itunes (as high quality as one can get).
Disadvantage: you need to install itunes :(
Thanks for the link, though, I'm not competing with anybody or anything.  I'm simply writing an app to the OP's specifications.

How about the middle road and scan for the image dimensions after you have scanned for all the files?
The delay is hardly noticeable.  I just wanted to let you know of it.

Edit: Ah, another request... Some albums are of the format Album\Disc 1, Album\Disc 2, with the cover art in Album. At some spots I think I might have Disk 1/Disk 2 spelling, or even CD. I guess spaces might vary too...
In addition to the audio file type list I mentioned earlier, a folder will be considered an album folder if it contains at least one of the following image types: jpg, png, gif, or bmp
I think that's about the only way to handle this issue.

Please re-download: CovArt Ops
