Living Room / Re: Free landline calls?
« Last post by lanux128 on May 21, 2007, 01:19 AM »
based on the website interface, the company jgpaiva mentioned is almost similar to another company, VoipStunt.

Its free calling terms are such:
* Max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days and per unique IP address. Unused free minutes cannot be taken to the following week(s). If limit is exceeded the normal rates apply. With your FREE DAYS you can call for free to all the destinations listed as free! when you have no FREE DAYS left the normal rates apply. You can get extra Freedays by buying credit
http://www.voipstunt.com/en/index.html

More googling reveals this:
What is VoIPStunt?

VoipStunt is an international VoIP service based in Germany. It works in a manner similar to Skype, in that it has a softphone application installable on a computer, and a service which can be obtained online. VoIPStunt has gained some popularity lately among softphone users due to its free calls to PSTN (landline) phones over some common destinations. There is a list of countries to which you can call free, but how free is free?

Free for One Minute:
Using VoIPStunt, you can make calls to landline phones in the free destination countries, but these calls last only a minute! The reason given for this by the VoIPStunt marketers is to prevent misuse of their network. Anyhow, it's only logical: anyone on business needs to make some money, besides Santa Claus!

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Run Before / After something

there used to be a program called Omni Shortcut that is able to do this but i can't find it anymore.. however for simple, sequential execution of programs, i use Batchrun.. btw, this freeware is no longer in active development..

https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=6492.0

also, there's always the "Start /w" command.. :)
To start programs sequentially in Windows, create a text file containing the following lines:
start /w <program1.exe>
start /w <program2.exe>
start /w <program3.exe>
<additional lines as necessary>

Save the text file with a .bat extension.

wow, this is very handy.. btw, Salamander has something like this, e.g. Ctrl+A to open drive a etc.. however i couldn't have found this if i hadn't some time to kill.. :) so i'd like to suggest that maybe the title should be changed to reflect the script's name/function and add a "Done" to it so that more people will able to locate this.. :)
5081
i don't have Vista but in WinXP the following steps will work.. Click on Start > Run then type "devmgmt.msc" and the device manager will appear. after that you can follow the instructions as given by the tech support.. :)

if you're using Firefox, you can disable the adverts with an extension called CustomizeGoogle.

CustomizeGoogle
This is a Firefox extension that enhances Google search results by adding extra information (like links to Yahoo, Ask.com, MSN etc) and removing unwanted information (like ads and spam)

when starting the program, i too encountered an error message after which the program just quits.. btw, the program doesn't endear itself by insisting on connecting to the internet without asking for permission..

FTPpie
This tool enables you to get a usage piechart from your FTP service, showing which directories are taking the most space, and to drill down into those directories to see which are the largest files.  Simply double-click on a pie segment to drill down!

CutePDF - Create PDF for free, Free PDF Utilities, Save PDF Forms ...
This one is free, but to do anything useful, you have to install their companion software which installs spyware.

are you sure? what is this companion software that you mention? because i have been using CutePDF for some time and it hasn't displayed any tell-tale signs of spyware activity. for the record, i also have PDFCreator and doPDF (Softland) installed..
