Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: How to order clips in menu of virtual folder?
« Last post by Renegade on September 06, 2012, 11:02 AM »
Thanks. I see that there now.

But it's in the exact opposite order that I put it in. i.e. For the 6 clips I have, the one that I specify as 1 comes out as 6 in the popup context menu.

Is that by design?

Is there any way that I can specify the order that clips are in for a virtual folder?

e.g. Say I have 4 clips:

2 - blah
3 - blah blah
4 - blah bloo
1 - blah blee

But I want them ordered like this:

1 - blah blee
2 - blah
3 - blah blah
4 - blah bloo

So when I press '1', instead of "2 - blah" I get "1 - blah blee".

I see no reason why Bitcoin could not become widely accepted. If solving math problems is worth money, then it's actually got more real value than most currencies out there.

Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Sweden all have a zero (0) percent reserve requirement, which effectively enables their private banks to issue unlimited amounts of currency at any time. They simply create an entry in a database and *poof* -- the money magically appears. (The US reserve requirement is about 10%.)

However, in the case of Bitcoin, real work is done in order to create the currency. It actually has some kind of a backing other than "faith". It does not require black magic to create - it requires real work. A "bit" of difference there. ;)

Deflation is a good thing. It increases the value of savings without resorting to usury - keep in mind that usury has been punishable by death in many places and at many times. (Usually by people who understood what it actually does.) Inflation destroys people's savings. The value of the US dollar is about 4% of what it was 100 years ago, thanks to inflation.

The only thing Bitcoin needs is wider adoption my more merchants. If everywhere you went, you could use Bitcoins... would you use them? I sure as heck would.

Just think about it for a moment... Now when you buy your pron subscription, nobody ever sees "XXX Juicy Fleshfest" on a credit card bill. Eh? See just how useful Bitcoin really is? ;D

It's anonymous like cash, but convenient as it is digital.

If money becomes digital and linked to your ID, then someone can simply turn you "off" and remove you from the economy. Say goodbye to buying things like, oh, maybe, bread? Milk? Food? Gas? Pron? :D

Bitcoin solves that problem.

Incidentally, the problem was outlined quite some time ago, and well before modern computers:

16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,

17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

Cue some Iron Maiden at this point! :P

664!
The neighbour of the Beast!
665!
The one across the street!

I guess people are still having too much fun checking out how Nokia apparently is faking both the video and still images used to advertise how good the camera in those phones is:

http://www.theverge....w-ads-are-fraudulent

http://sefsar.com/no...the-still-photos-too

:-[

Sigh... Being honest and telling the truth is simply far too difficult now. I think it has something to do with the world ending this year in a zombie apocalypse on December 21 or something like that. But I guess I can understand how Nokia needs to compete on a level playing field of douchieness and whatnot. Meh... Perhaps a nice lawsuit or tasering will cheer me up. Or perhaps I should go munch on a nice juicy apple. Not really in the mood for an orange or banana. Water. That'll be a good start...

Spoiler
Governments? Money? Governments do not control the money supply... That's left up to private banks... The name of the government is on the money, but that is where it ends. :( Seriously. Look it up. The last remaining government backed currencies include Iran and North Korea.... Don't believe me? Look it up. :) ;) (I think Cuba and Syria are the other 2 - not 100% certain there, but 90%.)

I think what BBC was implying was that there was no governmental backing behind bitcoins.

Forget gold or silver. Most currencies are backed by little other than a promise by a government to tax its people unto the umpteenth generation to make good on the obligation incurred.

Bitcoin, lacking a government, police force, and military cannot make that pledge.

I'm wondering if you meant to say:

Bitcoin, lacking thieves, thugs, and bruisers cannot make that threat.

;D

Sorry, it was just wide open~! :D

Regarding:

Most currencies are backed by little other than a promise by a government to tax its people unto the umpteenth generation to make good on the obligation incurred.

+100

When you start to understand the history of money (and legislation), it really is exactly that, and to be honest, much worse. But that's a diversion from the awesomeness that bitcoin could give the world! :D

Very sad. :(

http://www.bbc.com/n.../technology-19486695

One of the biggest Bitcoin currency exchanges has been taken offline after 24,000 units ($250,000; £157,800) of the virtual currency were stolen from its computer servers.

Bitcoins can be used for online money transfers and trades, and the currency uses cryptography to protect it.

But Bitfloor's founder, Roman Shtylman, said he had kept unencrypted "keys", which the thief accessed and used to take the money.

Bitfloor's future is now in doubt.

Mr Shtylman said his New York-based service was the biggest of its kind in the US and the fourth largest in the world.

Really, a silly and typical mistake.

But I'm still hoping for Bitcoin to make it. I would love to use Bitcoins rather than credit cards and the like. I'm on the sidelines at the moment, but still very interested...

This also pisses me off:

Unlike most other types of money, Bitcoins do not have a physical real-world equivalent

That's a flat out lie. The BBC is being disingenuous there and flat out lying. They probably don't understand what money is though, and it's probably an error of ignorance and incompetence rather than maliciousness, though you never really know anymore... (See here for an explanation of mine on money.)

This is in the believe it or not category, but the foreman in the Apple v Samsung trial is *still* talking about the verdict and why the jurors did what they did. And the more he talks, the worse it gets for that verdict.

I would quote, but the article is very small so it's probably better to just give a quick look.

What goes around, comes around:

Chinese Copycat Company Copies Apple's Phone -- And Its Patent Lawsuit Strategy!
http://www.cultofmac...-ban-sales-in-china/
The GooPhone i5 is a "pre-emptive" counterfeit of the upcoming iPhone 5, based on leaked photos and other information. It runs Android Jellybean. Copycat rip-off iPhone clones are nothing new -- even ones that come out before Apple ships. But now, GooPhone i5 people are threatening to sue Apple, saying they've patented the design of the phone in China and intend to block Apple's sales of the iPhone 5 there.

That. Is. HILARIOUS~! ;D

It seems to me that there is some room for innovation here though... And it seems crystal clear that new innovation is needed in the education system to come up with classes in douchbaggery. The whole world is moving in that direction so fast. I kind of feel cheated that I was never properly taught how to be a douchebag...  Maybe I can sue for that...

Just a brain fart, but for the social aspect, why not a "like" type aspect where you can't vote against something, but you can vote FOR something.

Players could "vote" on another players dish by putting up 1 hand for "I'd eat that" or 2 hands for "YUMMY!" It would keep a positive aspect on the game, but still allow that slightly dark side of "not" voting.

I still think that even with a minimalistic tone to the game, some very simple bonuses could make things more fun. e.g. A card like:

Title: Natural Sea Salt
Ability: Gives +1 "delicious" to a dish (or +2 votes to soup or whatever)

Title: Basil
Ability: Gives +2 "delicious" to any Thai dish

Title: Organic Tomatoes
Ability: Gives +1 health

Title: Tomatoes
Ability: None. But makes for great ketchup.

Title: MSG
Ability: Gives -1 health to any dish

i.e. There could be some "nasty" cards to have.

Title: Sugar
Ability: Gives +2 delicious and -1 health

Title: Honey
Ability: Gives +2 delicious and +1 health

Title: Raw Cane Sugar
Ability: Gives +1 delicious

When you break it down, food is all about 2 things - taste and health.

Players could compete for 2 titles - taste and health. The game could end up with 2 winners instead of just 1. That's what I'd call a win-win proposition~! ;D

Yeah... All still pretty much game mechanics, but it would help ease out some of the purely subjectiveness. It doesn't all have to be perfectly accurate as in the real world.

Reminds me of this story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hahn

That is just way too awesome! :) Smart guy!

Back in the early 90's, I read about a fellow that published about how the average person living on $50k or $75 (I forget exactly) could afford to build a nuclear device in 5 years.

Maybe someone else remembers the details there.
5016
My original intention was to add flavor text to all of the cards.. After we playtested it however, people seemed to like the very clean look of the cards, so now i'm not sure.  If it's added it will be very minimal.  And any iconography that gets placed on the cards will be likewise minimal.  This is a game that very much depends on the visceral feeling of working with food, so the food images are the stars.  If it got funded, one of the first tasks would be to hire a professional food photographer and create better photographs for the cards (or purchase rights from somewhere).

There are some very good stock photography sites out there. You can get time-limited access (etc. etc.) and get everything you need for relatively cheap. Think under $1,000, and even maybe as low as $250. A photographer will cost much, much more.

Just another thought:

Writing an ingredient guide and glossary (basically some info+trivia about each ingredient and general culinary tips).

Most card games have something called "flavour text", which doesn't affect the functionality/ability of the card, but gives it a bit of, well, flavour~! ;D

I think my favourite Magic card is this one:

http://gatherer.wiza...px?multiverseid=2283

The card itself sucks, but the text for it is just wicked cool! ;D

Gives me a great idea for a Dead Spider virus. Take one infected device broadcasting control codes and walk through a mall, it then completely shuts down any device in range causing it to shrivel up like a dead spider, and only able to broadcast the shutdown control codes it was given. Now you get an exponentially growing circle of Dead Spiders.

That is evil brilliant evil no brilliant no evil...

Either way, I love it! ;D

From:

Adding a main gameplay mode that does not depend on subjective culinary judgement.  That is, I want to add an alternative, more traditional card game that can be played with the cards, for people who may not love the idea of a subjective social party game. Adding small amount of extra indicators on cards to facilitate this is possible (numbers, etc.)

If you're into designing each card more, you can add in classifications, e.g. fruit, vegetable, spicy, etc., and "goes with" or "conflicts with" attributes. If you look at typical card games, those are the kinds of things that they use. The Illuminati card game from Steve Jackson games is a good example.

As a simple example, you could have "Chocolate" with "Goes with EVERYTHING!" Or "Anchovies" goes with "NOTHING!" etc.

Cards could give other cards bonuses, e.g. Garlic gives a +1 flavour bonus to pasta, and a -1 flavour penalty to ice cream. etc.

I'd probably set up a "dish" or "menu item" system where you combine ingredients to create something. You could also have things like unlimited vegetables, but limited meat items, and have some "spices" give an "allows 1 additional meat item in a dish" bonus. etc.

However, that is all about game mechanics, but it does solve the issue. I don't know how complex you want the game mechanics to be though, so I can't really say much more.

I would have a way for people to vote in the game though. You could then have alliances, people stabbing each other in the back, general mayhem, bloodshed, and all that good stuff that makes a game addictive~! :D (Yeah - I love "Diplomacy" the game.)

Apparatus and methods for enforcement of policies upon a wireless device

Abstract

Apparatus and methods for changing one or more functional or operational aspects of a wireless device, such as upon the occurrence of a certain event. In one embodiment, the event comprises detecting that the wireless device is within range of one or more other devices. In another variant, the event comprises the wireless device associating with a certain access point. In this manner, various aspects of device functionality may be enabled or restricted (device "policies"). This policy enforcement capability is useful for a variety of reasons, including for example to disable noise and/or light emanating from wireless devices (such as at a movie theater), for preventing wireless devices from communicating with other wireless devices (such as in academic settings), and for forcing certain electronic devices to enter "sleep mode" when entering a sensitive area.

Lots of articles out there on it.

This is so wide open to abuse that it's not even funny.

This is yet another attempt to suppress any kind of innovation or support or success in anything except "big business". It is an outright attack on individual liberty and the ability of people to make an honest living. It is purely designed to impoverish people, probably with the hopes that more people will turn to crime so that the criminals in charge of the system can throw more people into privately owned and operated prisons that their friends own.

I don't know of a more blatant way that these criminals could possibly expose their inner sickness and evil than to assault a basic right such as to ask others for help.

So glad I don't have to buy this from Libyans in parking lots at the mall anymore. January 21, 2009
By Kyle J. Von Bose
I bought this to power a home-made submarine that I use to look for prehistoric-era life forms in land-locked lakes around my home town in Alaska. At first I wasn't sure if this item would (or could) arrive via mail, but I was glad to see it showed up with no problems. Well, almost no problems.

Unfortuantly my mom opened my mail, because she does not respect people's privacy. She was pretty upset to see Uranium Ore. After a long argument and me running away from home again, she finaly stopped being such an idiot and I was able to get back to work.

The quality of this Uranium is on par with the stuff I was bying from the Libyans over at the mall parking lot, but at half the price! I just hope the seller does not run out, because I have many projects on my list including a night vision sasquatch radar, an electromagnetic chupakabra cage, a high velocity, aerial, weighted Mothman net and super heated, instant grill cheese sandwhich maker.

Ok for cleaning teeth, not so great for killing ants.. December 3, 2007
By Nero Goldstein
Picked this up for use in one of my kid's 'diversity' projects in school (Great Success!), and stuck the leftovers in the cabinet next to the baking soda.

Ran out of toothpaste, and remembered how you're supposed to be able to use baking soda to clean your teeth, so of course, I accidentally used this instead, and Wow! all I can say is, my teeth have never been cleaner! They sparkle, they tingle, and for some reason, they STAY clean now, no matter what. Highly recommended!

However, when I ran out of that fire-ant killer powder stuff, I figured I would try some for that too.

Big mistake!

Boy, it sure did not kill those ants!

Fortunately, those suckers get slower as they get bigger, so I have been able to use a shovel to take care of most of them, one at a time though, the sneaky devils.

And the darn trash man refuses to take them away..

I would have given this product 5 stars for the teeth and the project on embracing diversity, but I deducted one star because of the giant mutant ants.

After ordering 17,897 units of this product I was very disappointed to find I still didn't have enough Uranium for my project.

Several of my lead researchers advised me that I would need at least need another 500,000 units to go ahead with my 'final solution.'

I was so angry at this news I had four of them beheaded. Now I am left with one clumsy scientist and 17,897 units of low grade Uranium which are of absolutely no use to anyone.

Not only that, the Uranium you see sold above is of low grade and I would not recommend it to anyone looking to blow up a small to medium sized country off the Mediterranean sea.

If you want my advice, contact the Russians.

Since doing so I have never looked back. Allahu Akbar!

I have been using this product (well, I bought about a hundred of them), and I still have not gotten my super-powers. Is there anyway the manufacturer can send me some info and maybe a timeline as to how long this is supposed to take? I have these bits duct tape all over my body, but all I'm getting is an annoying rash and these weird lumps on my head and testicles. I hope this doesn't mean I'm getting some lame ass unicorn powers, because the one lump is on the side of my head and that would look bloody silly to have a Power Horn there. Not to mention I'll have to do some severe work on my jockey shorts if the horns sprout there.

Am I just supposed to leave the uranium by another creature and then let it bite me, like what happened to that annoying Parker kid down the street? I was wondering because I put one in my aquarium because the light broke last week and now the sponge at the bottom has teeth. I really don't want any sort of sucking powers, simply because I don't need the hassle at Justice League meetings, but if that's what I gotta do, I'll do it. Again, I worry about the lumps in my groin, as I really can't see scrotally-activating powers as being marketable.

Can someone send me a link as to what my next step should be?

Oh god! Way too good!

CHS will let you set a hotkey to bring up a menu under your cursor of all clips in a chosen group, and you can order the items in a group to be constant.

So that you can access any items with two key presses, one to key to bring up the group menu, and then another to paste the selected clip.

Ok. I see how to do it now. I didn't see it in the help file. That works for what I need now. :)

(Can CHS give me hotkeys for specific clips so that I can paste those specific clips without using my mouse or any UI? i.e. Just a set of hotkeys?)

The way I use CHS at the moment is with the favourites folder in a sub-menu of the popup list.
So for me I would have to press:
  • Ctrl+Alt+V [for popup - customised I think]
  • q [for the favourites menu]
  • [and the number of the clip on the favourites list]

you can move the favourites menu up to the main menu, then it would be just two steps.

If you add a new favourite, it will go to the top of the list (#1) - thus screwing up "pasting-without-thinking". Because of that I now use the option to move a pasted clip to the top of the list (i.e. sort by last use) - which means I do have to look at what I'm doing.

Thanks for the suggestion there. Unfortunately, it's a bit too slow for me for what I'm doing at the moment. I really need something that I can do blind from the keyboard. Otherwise, it's just as much work. Actually, I might just try that and see... There's always CTRL+Z, right? :)
