CleverCat: What am asking is "How do I link some text inside AllMyNotes to a URL?".

I must be missing something obvious. How do I hyperlink text within the program?

I hang around here even though I am not a coder because I love to test and use productivity enhancing software like FARR.

The community here is level-headed, friendly and polite. The best thing about this place is that folks actually create software programs for you for free! You got an idea? Just post it here and usually it will be done.

So many to chose from. I use FreeCommander a lot, even though I have a license for Total Commander.
I also use Windows Exploder, seem to have got used to it.

@snail02: Did you try Dropbox?

Same set of folders and files are stored on any of your computers where you have installed Dropbox and are running it.

The content remains both on their server and on your computer(s) locally so you can basically do anything w/ the files.

General Software Discussion / Re: Evernote alternative that has an online interface?
« Last post by sri on November 25, 2009, 09:30 AM »
I placed a portable version of Evernote (v 2.2.1.386) in my Dropbox folder. So it is available on any computer that I work on (and on which I can install Dropbox).

I really like this old version of Evernote because it has extra note types like 'Expenses'.

Although I don't use this s/w (I use ClipX), just want to add the following:

CHS has been mentioned at freedownloadaday.com.

Slightly off-topic: Those of you still using Roboform, have you given LastPass a try? It has all the features of Roboform and doesn't need to be installed (works via a bookmarklet). I own a Roboform license yet don't use it after I discovered LastPass. You can export all the passcards from Roboform to it.

General Software Discussion / Re: How do you launch stuff?
« Last post by sri on November 17, 2009, 01:01 PM »
I am currently using the combination of following:

FARR - Alt+Space is set to show pre-defined folders and URLs. I also use this to launch infrequently accessed items like volume control, control panel etc.

[attachthumb=#1][/attachthumb]

LaunchOnFly [using the last free version] - for launching pre-defined folders and URLs (via mouse)

[attachthumb=#3][/attachthumb]

The above menu is set to pop up when the mouse is taken to left bottom corner.

PowerPro - for launching programs and files.

[attachthumb=#2][/attachthumb]

The above bar is set to auto hide and pops up when I mouse over at the top edge.

lanux128: I tried it from the link you gave and have the same problem as earlier, so uninstalled it.

Kamel:

PowerStrip.png

The two vertical slider bars on the left side of the window under "Clock controls" are used to set the clock rates for the video card. The left slider bar controls the GPU clock rate which this window calls the "engine clock". The right slider bar controls the video RAM clock rate which this window calls the "memory clock".

It is these two values that I should try reducing by 5 each, correct?

I have just installed and uninstalled ATITool. It takes a lot of time to come up after starting and is stuck with 'Not responding'. I had to kill it. I don't think it's vista compatible.

I am going to try PowerStrip mentioned here.

I found the following in an article titled 'GPU and OpenGL Features and Limitations in Photoshop CS4' at http://kb2.adobe.com...ps/404/kb404898.html:

Display card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
Issue: Images display in chunks and with lines.
Solution: Turn off Enable OpenGL Drawing.

So looks like this is a known issue and the only workaround is to disable OpenGL.

Which version of OpenGL is running on your system?

How/where do I check that?

I went to Edit -> Preferences -> Performance and unchecked "Enable OpenGL Drawing" and now images appear fine.

I found someone else also having the same problem here.

A reply from the above page:

Heat: Check your card for dust. If you have a cooling fan that blowes cool air into a cover over your card then there may be dust inside, over the fins clogging up air movement, that needs to be cleaned out. Make sure your case has good air circulation too as dust might have built up inside. But when you get black triangles or artifacts it is usually caused by too much heat.

yksyks: Sample file

lanux128: Yes, the problem persists after restart.

Here is system info copied from Photoshop's Help -> System info

I tried updating the graphic card driver and got the message that it's up-to-date.

When I open any image in Photoshop, it is all screwed up like in the attached screenshot.

At 200% zoom, it looks alright but when viewing at anything less than 200%, the image doesn't appear the way it is.

Any idea?

Operating System: Windows Vista 32-bit
