Based on what MilesAhead said, his app can be easily modified with an INI file.

Hmmm...if that build doesn't work for you, start Trout directly from the executable file and then try a drag & drop operation.  For some reason, that seems to make d&d work in my Vista VM.  As to why, I haven't a clue.  Maybe some more Vista-savvy folks have an idea?

Hopefully, it's fixed in this build.  Please let me know and thanks for the report.

Since my last post in this thread I did some research and found out several programs that already do what I want.
@skwire: I appreciate your initiative to make the program for me but I don't see the need for it any more now that I found out about the following:

Sweet.  I'm a firm believer in not re-inventing the wheel.  I'm glad you found what you needed.   :Thmbsup:

There is some ambiguity between the original IRC chat and one of your posts.  In the original IRC snippet, you just want to move a file.  In one of your previous posts, you describe a source file or folder.  I assume you want both?

I'll whip up something...

Sweet.   :)  I'll wait to hear back from paarkhi to see if your app suits his needs before I start.

I don't think this is enough for a full-fledged application.  I'll write you an AHK script that you can adjust and modify accordingly.  What you're asking for is rather simple to do.

Sure, something like this can be done.  Are you just wanting to go one level deep on the sub directories?

General Software Discussion / Re: At last: MP3 Lossless!!!
« Last post by skwire on October 07, 2009, 03:23 AM »
Yeah, no kidding.  Can you imagine the potential memory usage of a tag editor at that point?  I could be mistaken, however, but that's how I interpreted all the specs I could find on this format.

I'm still on the fence about this idea. I guess to me it probably boils down to how well they work with tagging programs. Encoding/decoding time will also probably play a large part in whether it's adopted or not.

Get this...the lossless part of this new format is stored in ID3v2 tags.  Can you believe that?  So, the short answer is that current tag editors are not going to be able to handle this new format very well.  The problem is that, by spec, an ID3v2 tag can be up to 256 megs.  Yes, megabytes.  In other words, the tag editor will have to rewrite all the lossless data on tag changes since ID3v2 tags are stored at the start of a file (yes, I know about padding).  Crazy design decision, methinks.

Also, my own PlayTime will parse a playlist file and show the total time of the list.  Depending on what you want out of a playlist editor application, perhaps I can extend PlayTime (or create an entirely new app) to cover your needs.

Apologies for the delay.  I do not have VS2008 installed at all.  I do have Office 2007 installed.

My fault I had the # sign cemented in my brain as the character for a space. I see your correction now.
Everything is good to go !!
Thank you very much.

You are welcome.  Thanks for reporting this bug.

v1.0.5 - 2009-10-03
    ! Fixed a replace characters scope issue where the entire path was
      being considered instead of just the new folder.  (Thanks, sizzle)
4892
However the folder name still contains a space. If you notice my previous post, I already had the ini configured as you suggested with the # sign.
Here are the current settings on the config.ini file in use:
[Settings]
Remove_Chars=1
Chars_To_Remove=!@#$%^&()-_

Hmmm...I'm not sure what you mean about the # sign since we're talking about a space.  At any rate, your string does not contain a space in it as far as I can see.

Chars_To_Remove=!@#$%^&()-_      <--- Your string.
Chars_To_Remove=! @#$%^&()-_     <--- What it needs to be.
                 ^
                 |_ Notice the space?

Does that make things clearer?

Note: This behavior was remedied by a re-install of the program. However I want you to know that the program was creating a new directory named "documentsandsettings" again this is not the same directory that already exists on the  drive named:
 "Document and Settings"
[...]
How do you set up the config.ini to create a folder name without the space that's in the file name.

Thank you.  I believe I was able to figure out and fix the "documentsandsettings" issue.  Would you mind testing this interim build, please?: Download v1.0.4.2  There should be no need to unregister/register the extension.  Simply replace your current executable with this one.

To remove spaces in the filename, set up your config.ini like this:

Remove_Chars=1
Chars_To_Remove=! @#$%^&(){}[]

Basically, just put the space char somewhere in the middle of that string.  In my example, it's the second character...between the ! and the @.  Please let me know if that interim build solves your issues and I'll promote it to a release.

The Timer plugin works flawlessly.  No problems at all with that one.  As for the Google Translate issue, could this be a Jave/JRE version issue?

Here's a list of information that may prove useful:

1) The error pops up as soon as I type 'gt'.
2) I can switch back to the FARR and type one character (a space, a letter, etc.) but then the error window will then re-take focus.
3) I can keep switching back to FARR and, one letter/space at a time, get the string typed out e.g. "gt en es".
4) Once I get past the "gt en es" portion, I can type out the "hello" part without the error, press Enter, and the plugin translates properly.
5) My install paths are:

  • C:\apps\system\FindAndRunRobot
  • C:\apps\system\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\CZB_pack
  • C:\apps\system\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\FSubScript

6) The MD5 of the Fscript.dll in the FSubScript folder is: baeaba8abd90768db158a105271b1e5d
7) I downloaded and used the two archives linked in the first post of this thread.

Please let me know if I can offer anything else.  Thanks.   :)

Well, that's how programming goes.  What works on one system may not work on others.  It works for me...it works for you...but isn't working quite right for sizzle.  Oh, one other thing, sizzle, please tell me the operating system you're using.  Thanks.

if you find any other bugs, or have any ideas let me know. I have some time for CZB coding now

If you have some time, I get the same Google Translate error as Anaderi mentioned above: https://www.donation....msg174212#msg174212
