hehe.. Armando, i misread your post, you were not adding new categories.. you were inserting a new sub-category into the "text-editor" category.. sorry, to add to the confusion.. luckily i'm not writing any dissertations.. :)

Ditto... (well... Do you include word processors in your "text editor" category?) In my case : add PIMs. :-[

;D and after PIMs come the browsers then launchers followed by image resizers and er.. you get the picture.. :)

did you exit NoClose after disabling the [x] in your program? to keep your program's close button to be disabled, NoClose must be running in the background..

FlashHeader30-sh.jpg

In order to give back to the fans for over 12 years of devotion we are putting together a 12th Anniversary celebration during the month of September. However, as any Command & Conquer fan knows, the true party starts today, August 31st, which marks 12 years since Command & Conquer Gold launched way back in 1995.

To kick the celebration off, today we have a special surprise which we are certain new and old Command & Conquer fans will enjoy. We are providing the original Command & Conquer Gold as a free download, compatible for Windows XP! This is the same version included with the collectors pack Command & Conquer: The First Decade, and is now available for you to download for free!

i haven't used NoClose yet but from the thread, it looks like you have to start NoClose 1st then your program so that you can use Ctrl+1 to disable the "Close" button. if that works, then add the rule from the settings window..

yes, this is one tough cookie.. currently the only way to discover any conflicts is via a program that tries to register a hot-key and is unable to do so..

if it is a paid software, it's better to approach the developer to point out such a flaw in the design.. :) in the meantime you can use Skrommel's NoClose or GoneIn60s. one removes the [x] button on the main window so that you won't be able to close the program and the other hides the window for one minute in case, you wish to recall the program.. here are the links..

DONE: "Stop Me From Closing It" - prevent easy closing of a program
IDEA: program to prevent specified programs from being closed without confirm

this PC Mag utility can detect hot-keys assigned to short-cuts but only for those on the Desktop & Start menu.

now that i've read the article, i realise that they're using the gtd technique.. in the book, David Allen prescribed writing a "some day, maybe" list to keep all the not-so important, niggling tasks out of one's frontal lobe.. anyway, good link, justice..

looks useful, might drop by to get some pointers.. i especially need help on scanning paper forms into printable PDF forms.. :)

i haven't read the article you've linked but i read somewhere that procastinating may hold off the immediate anxiety attack but will snowball into a stressful burden on your brain.. :) now, if only i can remember who wrote that, was it David Allen in GTD?

Thanks everyone - it was a real pleasure. Lanux - you're from Malaysia?! And at one point I thought you were in France... Geography was never my strong suit...
;D yes, i'm usually associated with France or Turkey, i don't know why, maybe it's because of my handle.. :)

Especially if you live in a country that isn't widely represented on the map yet, you owe it to your fellow countrymen to make your presence known so they won't feel too lonely.
yes, it looks like PhilB66 is my closest neighbour.. :)
