given the nature of the program, this could well be a false positive..

If the main dcupdater tool is not installed, then dcuhelper will tell the user about it, and open the dcupdater web page for them so they can install it if they want.

mouser, what if the dcupdater tool is installed in a custom folder? i get the message box saying it's not installed..

i don't AVS anymore to try this but nudone why don't you make the xml as read-only after editing it? maybe AVS will protest that it can't write the settings but the downloads will go on as usual.. just my theory.. :)

General Software Discussion / Re: IrfanPaint - a painting plug-in for IrfanView
« Last post by lanux128 on September 12, 2007, 07:10 PM »
Great find lanux128   Thank you for sharing  :-*

This is NOT an full paint program but since i use IV already and this
is only an 145kB DLL (75kB UPX) this is nice for making quick an arrow here and an circle there.
you're welcome, AbteriX.. my reasoning exactly, IrfanView already allows image editing via an external editor.. this DLL would come in handy for some quick edits.. :)

as a good DC netizen, i have duly casted my vote.. btw, Darwin it should be Altap/Servant Salamander.. as "Servant" is freeware while the paid version has been changed to "Altap".. :)

General Software Discussion / IrfanPaint - a painting plug-in for IrfanView
« Last post by lanux128 on September 11, 2007, 09:58 PM »
IrfanPaint is a freeware plug-in that adds painting features to IrfanView. It is being developed by Matteo Italia (in collaboration with Irfan Skiljan). This plugin requires a modified IrfanView exe (that is included with the plugin) "since it must include a call to the dll of the plugin". I just renamed the original exe and extracted the zip-file and it works well so far, given the case that it is still in beta..

btw, to invoke the plug-in, load an image in IrfanView and press F12.

Your poll better have an option called something like "I use all of the above File Managers" ;)

another option could be "i still haven't decided yet".. :)

Edvard, redlar was last seen at the Portable Freeware Collection forums.. i think he is/was involved in a project called JauntPE, which is similar to the software he mentioned in the DC post that you linked above.. i've used redlar's programs before but i didn't know he has had such a chequered history.. :)

try changing the hot-key (Shift+PrtScr) to something else and see if the problem persists..
