ArsClip was capable to doing this

oh? how does ArsClip appear to do it?

I'm using more and more software from DonationCoder.com

 :-* :-* :-*

While I'm in Windows Explorer renaming function, hit the "Quick Paste Menu" shortcut, Explorer quits renaming.

That's a tricky one..  Exiting renaming function is probably unavoidable windows thing.. but if CHS could know you were in renaming function, it could simulate the F2 keypress to start a rename, but that's tricky.

However, I may have a little trick for you :)

CHS waits a small bit of time between when you select an item from quickpaste and when it actually tries to paste it (in order to give the target window time to regain focus).

I think you may find that if you hit F2 right after you select an item from the QuickPaste menu, you'll restart the rename mode and the CHS paste will properly occur in the rename.

Unfortunately that won't help you if you are just trying to quick paste into the middle of an existing filename, rather than completely replacing it.

The best solution in that case might be a small third part shell extension file renamer that would bring up a proper window for renaming files that would let you invoke CHS on the rename editbox as in a normal app.

UrlSnooper / Re: IPv6 support please
« Last post by mouser on September 29, 2016, 09:00 PM »
Are you sure it's IPv6 causing snooper to miss urls? I'm guessing its encryption that's doing it, as URL Snooper will look at raw packet data when searching..

Hmm.. that's unpleasant.

If there is nothing sensitive in your whenlast lists, what you could do is open your desktop dropbox folder and find the whenlast data files for both of your devices, and mail them to me.
If there is sensitive material in them you could just open them in text editor and isolate the entries corresponding to phone charging and send those to me.

Thanks, Chris!

For the curious, here's a comparison between a screen large enough for WhenLast to run in 2 column data mode vs. the new one-column data mode for small screens:

Normal 2-columns for label and last date:

New single column (2 row) smaller text layout for small screens:

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: Runnable .format files
« Last post by mouser on September 29, 2016, 05:15 AM »
Hi Jathri.

It's an interesting idea.. I guess the biggest impediment is just a gut feeling that for commandline execution of text formatting scripts, one would probably be better off using a nice little language designed for manipulating text (perl perhaps), since those languages have so much more power than CHS formatting presets.

Having said that.. It wouldn't be such a crazy idea to make a standalone tool of a different name, like SimpleTextFormatter which basically was just the text formatting functionality of chs, designed to be run manually or via commandline.

I've finally accepted that WhenLast (and my other android apps) look terrible and are basically unusable on a small portrait oriented phone.  I will now try to fix.

cool.

some new features include the ability to set a custom title for your widgets (or remove title completely), some optimizations that should speed up synchronization and better error handling for that, lots of little bugfixes.  new menu items for deleting/resetting all entries in current section.  new option to enable a "ViewAll" button that lets you quickly toggle hidden items on and off along with the edit buttons, and an indicator to show when you are looking at a hidden item.

This page has lots of info including links to some conversion tools:
http://jonesrh.info/sfw/index.html

Here is one free conversion tool for windows listed on that page: http://www.joenord.com/apps/sfwjpg/

It also says the nice free image viewer irfanview can open most sfw files: http://www.irfanview.com/

im not sure what that is all about but im guessing the problem is all because you installed the real copy through the official play store and this is an unofficial beta.  let me upload this to the play store and then youll be able to upgrade seamlessly.

Thanks for the compliments.
You can make the thumbnails as small as you want.

Just go to File -> Options and change the "Maximum Thumbnail Width" for GRID mode and set a smaller value.  (You can reduce "Minimum" too -- maybe make it half the maximum).
You should also make sure its in "Automatically resize to fit" for Thumbnail resizing mode.

I understand that the setting is a little bit counter-intuitive, but the way the program works is that it decides how many columns and rows it should show on the grid by making the thumbnails as large as possible, up to the maximum values set here.  So if you reduce the maximum, you will get smaller thumbnails and thus more items shown in your grid.

Alternatively, you could change the mode to "Use manual size" and set your exact Manually set thumbnail width to whatever you want.

Let me know if that works for you.

TIPS:

For the widget, click on the titlebar of widget to adjust widget options (such as root category/section, colors, etc.); click on an item to open app to that item.
In the app, long-click to drag and drop reorder items.

Multi-device sync using dropbox should work now.
